Funnily I've also had a lone Sur drop early on both of my characters that have run LK...we'll see how hooked you are after a few thousand runs.
Funny story, me and my friend played through normal the other day with him playing a fire druid and me as a hammerdin - needless to say hammerdins suck pretty hard untwinked at low level so he was pretty much carrying me.
Yesterday we decided to do some diablo co-op again but we decided to switch comp since ours wasn't very good so this time i played fishymancer and he played blizz sorc. We made it to act 2 and decided to call it a day.
I wanted to show him how good hammerdins eventually become so i found my old lvl 89 hammerdin which i haven't played for quite some time (I restarted d2 untwinked about a year ago so I haven't been playing him since i traded a bit on this forum with him).
I started doing a p1 ball run facerolling with kinda decent gear (nothing special), my friend doesn't know much about diablo so i told him about enigma, how rare the runes were and how it really takes the hammerdin to another level - just as i was talking about how great enigma was i killed a few mobs in the entrance to the throne room floor and this happened:
Couldn't believe my luck, happened exactly when i was talking about enigma
Also it is my first hr ever so extra win right there, now i just need to find a ber... Will probably take forever though!

Thanks for the advice, i actually do have a sorc i could do it on but i dont know if i could be bothered rerolling for a good map - maybe I'll get to it sometime ^^
If you need some motivation, I sorta mentioned it earlier; you can usually get enigma in ~3k runs at LK

After ~1.5 years or so in HC I still haven't gotten my enigma. I did actually start LKing a while ago, but then I deeded my sorc and poro won't rush me a new one

But I love LK, if you find it boring you can go Shenk+Eldritch > Travincal > LK. They also have good turn-outs

Ahhh you're back! I want you to know, I'm slowly adopting your playstyle. My SC characters pretty much do whatever, but any character played on HC goes untwinked, single pass, and only starts farming for better gear after guardianing. I haven't actually finished one yet, but my assassin is just about to get to hell, so we'll see
If the single pass part doesn't work, I'll definitely continue with the untwinked theme. Also, I'm letting myself mule for gems/runes, but only to the character that found it i.e. I have a stash for each character, and they don't share. If there's gear that I want to use on another character, I bring it to SC. So not quite what you're doing, but I had your playstyle in mind when I started doing this

now, if you didn't deed all the time, there would be enough runes to go around..
