The quest for Enigma

I should look up the thread for LK running guide.

I have a sorc that could do it. I can imagine how good my wind druid would become with an Enigma... but I'm not sure I have the patience to do these runs. :/

Haha knew my luck wouldn't last forever. 250 more runs and nothing over Io. Closing in on 500 total.

Nice guide btw Daz, I need to test if hitting the WP is faster than Harmony-sprinting across the docks.

Why do the runs at P8? I didn't think there was any drop difference between 7 and 8?

Not like it really matters if you're not playing HC.

Goober - if you're using tele then definitely. If not, then it'll depend on your map.

P8 shouldn't be any different than P7; I guess it's just a habit from levelling so many characters on p8

LK runs: 700

Perfect Gems: 169 (1 in 4.1)
Jewels: 138 (5.1)
Small Charms: 125 (5.6)
Grand Charms: 119 (5.9)
Magic Circlets: 60 (11.7)
Rare Rings: 29 (24.1)
Magic Monarch: 11 (63.6)
Rare Amulets: 6
Rare Circlets: 5

I don't post runes since probabilities to get runes are well known for superchests and data for those doesn't improve any knowledge about LK + sample of near 1k runs is nothing meaningful if we include side popables. However on 1000 mark I will include Ral, Sol and Thul runes.

Interesting stats gripphon. I do remember finding lotsa rare amus and circlets though. Isn't 1/10 or 1/20 something supposed to pop all rares?

I did ~200 yesterday and the highest from chest was a Ko :D

I've never gotten higher than a Mal from LK :/ Although I've haven't done that much running before. Maybe a total of 3k runs so far with the highest being a Mal is so discouraging seeing what all of you guys find.

Results like this do happen. I did 6000 plus runs with an Ohm as my best find. However, I then picked up a Sur and an Ohm in the next couple of hundred runs.

Decided that was probably the limit of my luck so stopped there!

Aiming solely for runes is a sure fire way to drive yourself insane, as they have only fallen for me in the most random of places, and only when they were the last thing on my mind. Then again, that applies to almost everything decent I've found in this game.

LK superchests are not "random". They have a fixed drop rate. It requires patience, yes, but it is not pure chance. They WILL eventually drop runes up to Ber. Of course this may take a really long time ;)

I love that there is a practically a LK-Run-A-Thon going on here.

I am joining the club. I have a sorc, with a circular 2 fire pit map. I just realized reading through this thread that I was doing it wrong on P8 and I am going to adjust tonight to p7.

Does opening super chests via Telekinesis change drop rates at all? I feel like I get better results when I open them "manually"

How you open them doesn't matter, and p7=p8 with respect to drops. ofc, p7 is ever so slightly safer as monsters are a bit weaker.

p1=p2, p3=p4, p5=p6, as well.

I use telekinesis on every chest - it's one less click per chest, so it shaves about a second from each run imo.

Once I got good at my map, I didn't even bother teleporting into the huts sometimes. Just telekinesis through the roof, and hold ALT to look at drops. Saves a bunch of actions, and allows you to avoid mob packs.

...kind of late here, but you ended up with only 1 gem per 4 runs? That's interesting. Would have definitely said it's a lot more just by inspection[strike], though I never pick up gems to begin with[/strike]. Nice job compiling that info. Hopefully an even larger sample gets done some day.

Also, congrats to those netting some nice finds. Looking back, a decent (Vex+) rune every 300-400 runs seems about what I've found to be reasonable. Anything above 500-600 runs without a nice find really starts bugging me. Not sure of the exact numbers, but going > 1000 runs without anything most likely means you overlooked a drop somewhere... or have some really silly poor luck.
