Yeah, I made the Silence Phase Blade for my Pally. I also equipped him with his original Schaefer's so he can soften Pidle's posse up with that hammer first, then discpatch them with the extra 55% MF (385 total MF) from Silence + Rhyme (also with maxed resists, which helps with the Pindle death explosion bug). He runs Pindle on P3, and actually gets the benefit of XP since he's only level 96.

As a matter of note, I have actually seen a Colossus Blade fall from the dudes in Pindle's yard, so those monsters are capable of TC87 (which means they can drop the WF) - those are fun to kill with the Nova Sorc (and give good XP since they keep getting up).

Take your barbarian and run Thresh Socket instead, you can get him to spawn rather close to the Frigid Highlands wp. (In 1.09 the positions of Sharptooth Slayer and Thresh Socket are swapped) Should be noticeably more efficient than running Pindleskin.

I'm right in a lk-project. I lack some lums.. I think i've got 10 dols or something but no lum at all. So i will do many runs and see if get something nice of it. :evil2:

@RobbyD - Yeah.. I need to lvl my sorc abit further before she can handle countness (hell) by her own and the merc. I don't get so much stuff from meph (hell) that i want.. 2k runs or something so far with my bowzon and a nice map.

I managed to get deeds on my recently-made d2c cowrun necro on his virgin hell cow run. Turns out swapping out Iron Maiden for Amplify Damage when a whole bunch of them is whacking on your Blood Golem is dangerous when you only have ~700 life! I was self-MP'ing though and managed to loot the Gull and all the other equipment however.

I just made a sorc for hellforge rushing in 1.09 Classic. I plan to use Frozen Orb with Thunder Storm as a backup for Duriel.

There's one question I haven't found the answer to:
Does aiming FO in 1.09 work like 1.07 or 1.10+? Should I try to hit the enemy with the orb for multiple shard hits, or should I avoid that at all costs?

Send the orb straight through the Target. That works best in 1.09.

Thanks! Classic 1.09 is very different so far, mostly because it's Classic, so no merc, no jewels, no runes, no charms.... Players 8 is sure handy when starting a new sorc from scratch though. Lvl 15 Outer Cloister. I have 2 chipped topazes in my hat and am whacking stuff with a scepter with a chipped emerald and a chipped ruby. I'm getting a lot of mileage out of Frost Nova right now. I just put my 5th point in Static Field to help with champion/unique packs. I shopped a staff with +1 to Blaze for Andariel. I'll be on the lookout for a staff with +fireball for Act 2.

Edit: Countess dropped Death's Sash! Yay!

Just got the cube on my sorc. Now to figure out how best to lvl at 18 when I can't seem to hit things and it takes me 2-3 ice blasts to kill one mob on p1. Maybe I should go back and mf coldcrow? Hmmm.

At level 18, I like to go with a 6 pEmerald Long Battle Bow (you can go Eth + 5 pEmeralds if you are having trouble hitting things) - that should get you to level 30 when you can start orbing. The bugged bow poison damage makes that thing a real killer. A Bloodthief, Duskdeep, and Darkglow for the Merc should make him plenty tough.

I'd suit up a General's Ta Di La and a Sigon's shield for Duriel.

I'm playing Classic though, which means there are no runes and I can't equip a merc. This is also my first character in 1.09, so I don't have a 6-socket bow at lvl 18. Sorry for possibly confusing others in this thread with my Classic shenanigans.

I know I can make it through this. So I guess I shouldn't have complained.

What do you mean by 'bugged bow poison damage'? Perhaps I can do something with a 3-socket longbow in that case?

Hah - I missed those BNet adventures - I've always done SP. Epic trade story, though. To answer your question, no, I have not tried the Eaglehorn, but I do plan on using it in my pure bow progression for my Strafer (though I expect the GSA and/or Lycander's Aim will outshine it). I actually have 3 of them now. I'm piling up TTAW (Things That Aren't the Windforce).

@SunsetVista - I can't speak authoritatively for Classic, but in 1.09 LoD, thefranklin is correct - 3 chipped emeralds in a bow should do 30 poison damage over 3 seconds, but actually do 90 poison over 9 seconds [30 / 3 = 10 poison per second for the added poison duration]. My favorite starting weapon is a 5 socket Long Bow with Jewels of Envy - that's 500 poison damage over 10 seconds from LEVEL 1! Then at level 18, 6 pEmeralds in a Long Battle Bow do 3600 poison damage over 42 seconds.

Now I read in some of the old Amazon Basin articles that poison charms in the inventory stack the same way if you use a bow, but I haven't verified that. I've got some kicking Pestilent SCs (including a Pestilent SC of Venom) I plan to use with my Strafer - so I hope that's the case. I may test it with a mule.

Edit: Ran shrines until I had 3 perfect emeralds. Stuck them in a long bow. Now I'm able to kill efficiently at players 8. Already lvl 20. Thanks for the suggestion!

OK - I did some testing, and here's what I found...

The poison damage length of multiple poison damage charms DOES add together when using a bow. I had 4 Grand Charms of Blight and a plain bow. The poison duration was about 2 seconds (in NM, so it appears that the poison length in NM is about 2/3 the listed amount in 1.09). Then I put 3 more in the inventory, and the poison duration was about 8 seconds.

Just out of curiosity (this is a rush mule), I switched to the default Javelin switch, and when throwing the javelin, the duration is still 8 seconds, but when jabbing with the javelin, the poison duration was 2 seconds.

This is really good news for my planned strafer - I'll make sure to save space for all my Pestilent SCs and a couple good dual-poison SCs.

Just need that WF.
