This is so untrue, yet hilarious at the same time. So how is it waiting a year to get necessary medical treatment?
Exaggeration. Depends entirely on what it's for. If it's a kidney or something, then yes, but if it's anything that's not as major it's pretty quick.
however, I guess if you had the money you could go to the states for faster access to expensive stuff immediately, but that only makes us look better. Best of both worlds! I don't know how difficult it would be to come to Canada and get cleared for treatment here if you're from the states.

I don't need to use public health services. I treat myself at home with a scalpel, some whiskey, and pure courage.

I've looked into it, you have to be a resident for so long before you even qualify to take part in the health care plan up there. It would suck if you needed that kidney in 3 months and it takes 6 months to get it now wouldn't it?

Don't you think that organ donation wait times are just as bad in the US?
Wait times are bad everywhere because there's usually not enough donors and you have to be the right fit, plus, there's usually someone else ahead of you who is in more urgent need.
