Raises my Hammerdin's defence to 14,6k from 10,8k. after a Hell re-hired Defiance Merc at 97. How long would it take to level a Merc now if I hire him at say clvl 95? :scratchchin: I guess I may need a Elite base Enigma after all. As well as possibly a Beta CtA in order to finally not be deathly afraid of De Seis. Guess I better get cracking in 1.09 :p

Either way, it's a pretty damn sexy runeword. :yes:
 
I dont think it does. Used to be that if you leveled mercs the hard way, they'd have better stats in the end, I believe this was changed and any you buy from anywhere have the same stats as anywhere else. Not worth losing a map over, that's for sure.
 
I always though that Merceneries were gaining better stats if you were leveling them instead of buying them at a high level. That's why I though normal mercenaries are stronger since they come at early levels and can gain most of the levels by farming with you. However, I was recently said that Nightmare mercenaries have better stats than Hell and Normal have better than both. I tested and it was true.
 
The difficulty level a moron is hired in affects the moron's stats (i.e. strength, dex, life, resists; normal > nightmare > hell), but I don't believe that includes the aura level.
