There is still plenty to talk about, but you can't tell me that discussion hasn't slowed down a bit since the lock. Nonetheless, the lock was pretty much inevitable based on what was posted so far today, and as explained previously I would have locked him as well, and only didn't do it earlier because I wanted to read more in depth and give it more time for discussion to play out before doing so.

Artemis is my role. Hades was to draw reactions, and since Hades was the first thing I could think of that was evil with respect to gods, I figured we could get a lot of people an excuse to divulge their thoughts on alignment in this game. I would suspect several town and mafia to jump on board and say we should lynch me because Hades is typically evil.




This was a response to Jcakes's post. I caught him, and I'm so happy that it worked.

I'm Artemis, with 1-shot blood swap
Blood swap:
Pick 2 targets at night. If one of them is killed or investigated, their names will be swapped.

I couldn't find any examples of this online to compare to, but the closest I can think of is the Forensic Scientist from the Create Your Own Role Mafia Game mixed in with some kind of bus driver. So cute!

I picked Sath and myself the night Sath died, and when the mass claim started I knew I had to get in there early with my (barely) hidden claim as Artemis. I figured that there was a really good chance that one of the mafia would fake-claim using that name, since they would have (presumably) been given that name after killing Sath, if they killed Sath.

In other words, I really really really think Jcakes is mafia and he took Sath's name at death for his fake claim.

Thoughts? I want to get back to studying, but there should be SO much to discuss for everyone else for the second half of this day.

That's about the strangest role I've heard of, but this is of course a TC game. It also sounds like a mafia ability, not a town ability. Why would a town player want to mess with investigation/death results?

There may have been a third: Leo. She pointed out the Joxer reference and told everyone to get off Laarz. If Leo was a Greek God, I don't think she gives Laarz a pass. She didn't seem very surprised that he was part of the Hercules/Xena franchise. She even accepted it. It's not illogical to conclude she was also from the Hercules/Xena franchise. Leo even dropped a name of Gabby, who was Xena's sidekick in the show. It's a guess, but I don't think it's a bad guess.

That's an interesting idea, and I would have said you may be right until I saw the BA claim below. I am really leaning towards Laarz being a VI at this point as that is the role I would associate with Joxer.

My X-shot ability is vigilante. It's a night only ability. On N2 I used it on Solar Ice. My reasons for targeting SI are stated in post 468:

"I did NOT have a townie read on Solar Ice. In fact, my read was pretty negative. He didn't come out guns blazing. He was relatively passive. He threw up softball questions and didn't follow up on them. He found CG scummy (and voted) for the same post I considered townie. Based on their D1 play, I think the most likely player to trigger a bomb would be Solar Ice. If he would have survived, I would have a tough decision between voting Zokar and voting Solar Ice."

SI was townie. He was Hermes. He was a bus driver. I know my vigi shot took out SI (not just aimed at SI) so no switch was involved. I breadcrumbed my ability and SI's alignment in posts 551 and 558.

Why did you decide to use your vig kill so early in the game?

I am actually Apollo. I am a cop. I investigated Pharphis on Night 1 (due to our vendetta from last game, if he was anti-town I wanted him dead) and received his name Artemis and his alignment (Town). I claimed Artemis to find out why he claimed Hades. I also didn't want to claim Apollo as it is fairly obviously the cop role (given Apollo is god of truth).

Pharphis getting a free pass needs to be decided because I definitely did not get that Sath was Artemis. "Hermes" being a bus driver, definitely gives plausible belief. I didnt want to call out pharphis last night if that was the case and I am happy I didnt because JCakes just ate his own hat.

Phar being bus driven is plausible, but it had to have been with someone who didnt die and gory is claiming it was solar ice so he didnt switch him with himself I guss. If theres another driver might be useful to get some more info on the matter.

This was almost a duplicate of my pm, but words ordered slightly differently so as not to be mod killed. I didn't really think about this before, but the specifics were being killed OR investigated. I at first assumed investigation would imply coroner results, but I suppose they are 2 different things.
I mean, that's the most obvious, and only solution I can come up with, but if there are bus results (that explain this) they would be very helpful.

This is starting to make more and more sense from a design POV.

TC inserts town role designed to swap names for people for the night (but not role or alignment!)
also inserts name coroner (I don't know if this is traditional as you said but it's fitting here)
In combination this allows for the the town to effectively catch 1 guy in a lie, and confirm with coroner results.
Plus, blood swap is a really original idea it seems.

I mean, until the game is over it may not be clear how this works into the balance of the game exactly, but mafia may have a revive ability by the looks of it.

I do agree, however. It does sound like a mafia ability, and may be why it is only 1-shot, but I think my explanation illustrates what I THINK the idea behind it was.

Derp. Decided to just pm TC instead of speculating and he has confirmed my thoughts. He meant as written: investigation as cop.
Now no1 needs to claim bus driver or something to try and justify this.

That is certainly a possibility. It still is going to work out poorly for town most times though.

Some people were suggesting we lynch Moar tomorrow. It seems silly since we now have another lynch, but if people REALLY think moar is scum, tomorrow would be the best time to do so. I don't see it, personally, but we'll have to crunch some numbers to make sense of it.

I thought the answer in my previous post was clear. No I didn't kill Leo. Basically my "Nah." in the previous post was the answer to your question, I just fleshed it out a bit more than a simple no answer..

In light of his master plan on trapping mafia, I can understand his style though. Pretty epic if it turns out true. Award worthy epic me thinks. Few questions.

1) Why did you decide to wait until Corax, Pyrotechnician, and Laarz had claimed before coming forth with this information? If you had already caught Jcakes in your snare, so to speak, what did you expect from the other three's claims? Were you somehow hoping that they'd also claim Artemis?

2) Why did you pick Hades as your fake claim? That's a ballsy move, since Hades is a well known deity and very likely to make an appearance. Why did you not go with a lesser known, but still evil, option?

3) With a one shot ability, you have to very carefully weigh the options ahead of you before using it or risk wasting it. You used it on night two, choosing Sathoris. Why so early in the game? Why Sathoris? Did you have reason to believe he was going to be targeted for NK?

4) Why did you feel the need to rush to claim early? You could have waited until after everyone else claimed and still come forth and gotten scum lynched. Doing so would have precluded the necessity of fake claiming Hades.

So Sath, Leo, CG and SI were killed the same night. According to pharphis Sath was the NK target ( assuming Jcakes is scum so they got the Artemis name). So Sath was town. Can somebody please dig up who he voted for first without giving a reason?

According to Gory SI was town as well.

According to FoE CG was mafia bodyguard who took the bullet for the hitman.

So the question is why Leo died. She wasn't the mafia target if all above is correct.

Typing it out helped my thought process. I usually keep a notepad file where I do just that. Obviously don't have it this time. Sath must have been the PGO/ bomb. And If Leo was Athena, then it makes sense that she had a targeting role. Have to google Athena though, not 100 percent sure I can trust my school memory.
