I prefer a BuriZon to a Sorc for rushing in 1.09 because of Act Bosses - Hell Duriel is just plain tough for a Sorc, whereas a Zon casts Decoy and GA's him dead. MeteOrb is AWESOME for 1.10a Andy running though (I know you don't plan on that, but it's pretty much the perfect character for it).

I don't think seed has anything to do with it - I've just honed my Pindle running and found that my BuriZon runs him fast and clean with downright respectable MF (327/385), and of course my WW Barb has the benefit of Hork, and I've settled into getting those runs in fast. I don't know if it's worth posting the drop screen, but I got my second Odnal's Almighty (set Spired Helm) with my Barb last night.

One thing I've noticed is that the ATMA drop calculator apparently does not disclose those reviving guys out in Pindle's courtyard, so I've never been clear on what they are capable of dropping, but I have gotten nice drops from them (like Stormshield, Naj's Puzzler, and an actual grailer - M'Avina's Embrace). My Zon goes out and clears them from time to time when looking for bolts, and I've been curious if they are capable of dropping TEH WINDEH.

What I have seen them drop are Myrmidon Greaves - is that from the same TC as a Hydra Bow? If so, I might take her out to clear them out a little more often, as they do drop uniques from time to time.

I do quietly hope for a Sur rune (I know it's prohibitively unlikely) just because a beta Bramble is not something I see done a lot, so I'm really hoping you reach your goal.

I'm not sure for the extra undeads in Pindle's court. Can you tell by the ilvl of their drops? I would assume that if any other monsters in A5 can drop a windeh then those guys should be able to... But if you've been having good luck with them then it is surely worth running them.

My horking was taking too much time trying to see through the screen clog. I'm still interested in seeing how the Pally does on him, but it sounds like finishing up my zon is going to be one of my best bets for anything and everything I'm wanting to do. Currently I've been looking for ammys with tele charges but haven't had any luck there. Starting to check the staffs now too for the same thing, although I'd prefer getting an ammy and save the weapon switch.

Actually, there is not uniformity with what A5 monsters can drop, at least per ATMA. From what I gather, half the SUs in Act 5 can't drop Grandfather, WF, TC90s, etc. The only areas that they can drop are the cold caves, red portals, WSK, and (apparently) Pindle's Court (I'm saying that due to the Myrmidon Greaves I saw) can produce that TC. The rarity of the top items in 1.09 is impressive.

I know what you mean with the Barb horking, but doing it with dual Ali Baba's is hard to pass up for me. Your Pally will run him fine (and will not be slowed by PI, which is a bonus) - I just like my Zon better because she shatters those corpses and does it from a distance to avoid the FE/CE/LE bug that hits when you're standing on his minion corpses. I'd make you a Rhyme in a nice 2os Crown Shield with fat staff resists so you can wear Wealth or Skullder's, and have the 25MF from Rhyme to boot.

Another night of Pindle running produced 2 interesting drops:

Boots and Sword. Guess which of these items I have more of.

This is really starting to feel like it felt running Kountess for Vex.

I was reading up, and there seems to be a FAM fix for that CE bug stickied. I haven't looked into any more, but wonder if it would take care of that issue..? It would make nova sorcing pindle and anyone else getting close and personal with pindle's pack, stygians, etc. if so.

The zon is at 63 now and wearing my lone pair of LoH's. GA totally destroys anything that moves. I forgot just how crazy it was. And now that my level is getting higher, the cows are actually starting to freeze when I use MS.

I would agree with Pindle's Court, it follows the red portal area concept and comes after some of the cold caves in the game. Heck, aren't the Halls of Pain/Vaught one of the highest areas in the game (or is that a later patch that changed...?) It seems to make sense, but we all know how this game is tricky...

I don't think I have a Lem to make Wealth, and I actually have no Lum either to make smoke. Guess Countess is calling my name. I don't have a skullder's yet either :( But I do have lots more Pgems...? I just haven't had the time to MF with trying to get the girls leveled. And that means I still have little gear. Cows give up lots of jewels and gems though. Just got a 30(or higher?)% max ed + some other mod jewel and a 1-96 lightning damage jewel! Another lightning jewel to go in my lightning sword for my holy shock:D Not that it will still give me enough damage to actually kill something.

Thinking back to my barb, he is still wearing Goblin toes, a normal helm with +skills and mods, and Mahim Oak Curio (because my jewelry drops have sucked royally). So my grail is rather unflattering. I've got grading and lots of other junk to do tonight, so I probably won't be getting any time in unfortunately.

The CE bug (if that's what it's called) is definitely a downer for a Nova Sorc wanting to run Pindle - the bug doesn't hit my Barb so hard since he's so ridiculously BO'd, but the Sorc takes a hurting. I couldn't find the reference, so if you could point me in that direction, I'd definitely be interested.

There's also a bug where if you 'port real fast to the back of Pindle's porch, almost all of the monsters out in the court are gone if you go back out.

Today's my bday (answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything), so I'm FULLY expecting the Windeh from Pindeh tonight (even though Vex from Kountess was a day belated last year). That will be my aim tonight. I may even break out the Pally and up the setting to P3 to get him to level 96.

Happy Birthday! I know you said it was close but I didn't think it was that close! Good luck running Pindeh tn. I hope you find it and can make a final gunslinger in 1.09.

I ran into a new bug with my LF zon while running cows. I had the buriza up to GA a couple of stragglers, got hit, and locked in place. Couldn't run anywhere, tp'd and got back to town stuck, went back in the portal and still couldn't move. Let the cows kill me and I went back to normal. But it happened to me twice yesterday a couple of runs apart from each other. I guess similar to strafe lock maybe? I didn't get stuck in any animation because I could still use any attack, switch weapons, etc. I was leeching of the cows still but they weren't taking any damage. Strange...

I found a link to "the FE bug explained" (must have typod or got mixed up earlier) and it talked about pindle's court, but it was more geared towards 1.10 ancients. I have seen some other mention of it when people were talking about FAM's from old threads but haven't found that again...

I know that bug you're talking about - happens when you weapon switch while running and shooting, in my experience. You can cast/take a TP, but that's it. I just S&E when that happens.

It happened at the start of my run both times and didn't want to waste the extra time it took for all the setting up :P Granted it doesn't take that long... The experience lost to death was brought back quick enough in the run so it was no big deal.

It would seem that you didn't get the best birthday present ever last night as I'm sure there would have been a whole thread made just for it if you did :(

No runs last night but I am planning on getting some time in tonight/tomorrow night. Maybe these ladies will get some time in on Hell finally. They both need to finish out A5 before they can do any cow runs or MF runs, but I'm sure I can get at least one of them there. It's nice not relying on CtH with the zon's skills, very nice.

No, best thing from Pindle last night was some gems and an IK Maul. I did fire up the Pally to get some XP to level 96 as well, but he runs with less MF, so I keep finding myself to run with the Zon or the Barb.

My Pally has: Stealskull (Res@/IAS jewel), Skuller's, War Trav, Rhyme shield on switch for 279MF on kill (254MF on main switch)
My Zon has: Tal's Mask/Armor/Belt (topazes) + War Trav + rare gloves, and Langer Briser on switch for 385MF on kill (327MF on main)

so she has a decent MF advantage over him, which doesn't have a huge marginal impact on unique rates, but given the extreme rarity of the WF, has a practical impact of almost 3,000 runs.

The Barb (Topaz in the Arreat's, Skullder's, War Trav) actually has the highest MF on kill (423MF) due to the dual Ali Babas, but like you said, his screen often gets cluttered from the horking even on P1, plus he has the lowest MF on accidental kill (and highest likelihood due to limited control of WW)

I guess I could break out my original Frenzy Barb (the ubar Mephy runner), who has ridiculous MF (399/597 on dual Ali Baba switch) who could theoretically get it in 2,500 fewer runs than the Zon, but I don't know if his MF efficiency would make up for the speed of her runs. He could hork, though, which is good. If I take the Tome of TP out of his inventory, I could shore up resists. I'll maybe look into that.

I just checked and I apparently put a rare jewel with 7% MF in one of my Frenzy Barb's Ali Babas, so he's sporting 604 MF on kill. Yeah, it might be worth adding him to the list if Frenzy is really workable as a Pindle running skill.

OK, I got looking at my Frenzy Barb's setup - he's got 19 hard points in Sword Mastery, 10 hard points in Mace Mastery. He's sporting Baranar's Star (Shael) in RH, Lightsabre (rare jewel with 'Realgar of Thunder') in LH. Mixed Masteries makes this viable, but back when I was equiping my WW Barb, I bought some crafted 1.07 Swords from WoRG - two of them (Colossus Blade and Highland Blade) are in use by my WW Barb, but one craft never got used:

I don't think I'll put this to use on another character, so I'm thinking about popping an Eth and 2x Sheal in this and doing a little comparison with this paired with the Lightsabre versus the Baranar's Star. I have tried a Doombringer with Lightsabre and liked the Baranar's more, but this sword would actually have higher average damage and a tighter range, and have the benefit of 30% more speed and an auto-hit Eth rune.

Since I don't see how else I would use it, I might even think about Eth, Sheal, Realgar Jewel of Fervor (though I would have to check to see if that actually impacted a BP or not, and they changed the Frenzy speed calculation from 1.09 to 1.10, so it would be a gamble).

Well golly gee that's a lot of deep thinking to get that WF to drop. I have nowhere near the MF/gear going for my runs, but that's okay! I'll get there eventually. My frenzy barb did pretty alright running pindle with his dual ccb's. I used him for a long time before changing to the sorc. I could get just close enough to nova and not get the horrible FE bug stuff going after some practice. No playing done yet tonight. I might be able to get some here in a few. It all depends on whether the boy goes to sleep any time soon or not.

Hey guys, i just started playing 1.09b, but have encountered an irritating issue regarding windowed mode. In 1.13c which i usually play in windowed mode, there is a resize button at the top right corner of the screen which isn't present in 1.09b. As a result, the screen is really, really, really small. Is there a way to fix this?

I play full screen, so I don't have an iron clad solution, but I would suggest setting your resolution lower when you play.

Hmm my new paladin, level 13, half the way to level 14.. Going into black marsch. Currently 4p in might, some investment in str and vit. Untwinked. Any suggestion how to spend the skills Robby? A fana/conv/sacr-hybrid?

Good to see you back, Klonki!

I wouldn't spend any more than the prereq in Sacrifice because you get no synergy bonus for Zeal, but a hybrid is definitely the way to go - 4 in Zeal (more if you need AR), max Fanaticism and Conviction (you get Sanctuary as a prereq, and that's all you need for a PI undead switch), Holy Shield to taste (I maxed it) and finally Vengeance (last because if you find a good weapon with elemental damage, it's much less mana intensive to Zeal than Veng, and Sanctuary takes care of undead PIs).

Definitely be on the lookout for good 2os Crown Shields with good staff resists - Rhyme in that is endgame. Also look for good weapon bases for King's Grace (3os Rune Sword) and Honor (5os Knout, or, even better, Divine Scepter). NM Countess provides the runes you'll need, and has been known to drop LoH (my Frenzy barb still wears the pair that NM Countess dropped)! And her tower has some good racks for bases.

OMG.....they brought back evil2 smiley????? Sweet!!!! I haven't seen any of those in many a forghtnight. Now we just need :rolleyes: to be reinstated and we'll start to have some return to a sense of normalcy.
