5th Diablo 3 class finally revealed!!!!

Re: 5th Diablo 3 class finally revealed!!!!

+1 to DuesNox

Also, we still don't know what the runes are going to do to the majority of the skills for all the classes. From what they showed, it looks like abilities are completely changed some of the time, and they seem to be almost a mandatory component. I mean, maybe we will get a shape-shifter with the use of a high level rune on the wizard's armor spell.

This new class, aesthetically, is awesome! She's darker and has more of an original Diablo feel than any of the other classes. I'm glad you can duel wield crossbows, always wanted to do that (or go crossbow/shield). Her play-style looks really fun too. And that circular blade trap thing looks so sick, along with the improved look of multiple shot. Now to see what happens when you add runes to her skills... I wonder what runes will do to that chain attack?

As a big fan of both the Amazon and the Assassin, I'm pretty happy with the Demon Hunter. In some gameplay video, it looked like she was tossing grenades, which is pretty cool. I rather like using fireblast on trapsins already. I'm hoping they'll have something like strafe in there, not just multishot.

I think the idea of classes is somewhat out-dated anyway. I would have liked to have seen a more free-form character progression where you choose a sex and other aesthetic options and then get to choose skills that suit you without constraints from class. Choice of skills would also influence that way your character looks - Physical skills make muscles, dark magic corrupts the user. Then the choice of the basic skills influences the skill options that become available to you. The skills wouldn't necessarily be a simple tree - early skill choices could exclude later skills in a less linear way.

To give a D2 example, imagine all the skill trees are available to you, but you would be restricted from choosing Skeletons, Skeleton Mastery, Fanaticism and Teleport.

I'm still not convinced on D3 generally though. I read lots of things about the game that I'm not sure about, but the Demon Hunter does look good. I'll hold my judgement until I have played the game, but the pre-release popularity she seems to have is probably the biggest thing to put me off the class.

Re: 5th Diablo 3 class finally revealed!!!!

Hooray! The Demon Hunter looks like fun. I love ranged characters, and I think Demon Hunter will be the first D-III character I try. I hope the damage of the ranged attacks is high enough to get her through the game, though - that is always the weakness of a ranged character.

Right now I would rate them as

1. Demon Hunter
2. Monk
3. Wizard
4. Barb
5. Witch Doctor

Witch Doctor is the wild card, with the right combination of weird skills he might be alot of fun. But the character looks so freaking unattractive. And the appearance of the Barb has gotten so dark and grim. I want the game to be fun; not depressing.

If I'm able to buy a new computer befored D3 is out I'd like to be the one who creates the D3 version of fishymancer. A character that can beat the game naked in SP. I'm quite sure that witch doctor is the one character to try.

I completely agree. It would be awesome to be able to personalize our characters in another level. Why do we need to make expensive RWs to be able to use another class skills?

Hmm perhaps that's the way runes and skills will work in D3...
