Finished act 1. Soulcatcher became a Hydra/Frozen Orb sorceress. My first feat in Hell was to screw up allocating the new skill points, so I misspent four of them. :banghead: Oh well.
Reconfigured my whole inventory (mf down, resists up) and gave the merc an insight stick and treachery armor. Did everything on players 3 up until the Black Marsh, when I switched to players 1 in all non-outside areas (decided to do this after the Hole, which was a brutal place). Going to try to continue with this tactic.
Been gambling circlets for my merc (he badly needs life leech), but so far, no luck.
Notable finds in act 1: Mal rune, Dragonscale and Razor's Edge (my first elite unique this restart).
Rules question: what does "single pass" imply? For example, do I have to clear all the act 3 temples and click all the evil urns in act 5?
Level 79 + 60 quests + 88 waypoints = 227 points

Flighty's fate is much less glorious. I noticed a while ago that I apparently had lost her stash somehow. In the early stages that's probably not fatal, but my motivation to go on was not great to begin with (thus the lack of progress). So, for the sake of this tournament, Flighty is deceased. She may be reborn later (heavily twinked though)...
Single pass means that you are not allowed to clear an area/kill a boss/... twice. You are allowed to skip as many areas and monsters as much you want. Style points if you don't.

Zelda is sitting safely at the Outer Cloister waypoint. Everything has been smooth so far. Before she even found her first topaz her first green dropped. Not too shabby. With Zelda having 64mf and the idiot a cool 100mf, i hope the future holds more green and gold!

Zelda was able to slay Andy and now resides in act 2! I managed to gamble her these, which added to her mf a little. The boots seemed to help out cause andy dropped a pointy stick that my new desert merc now wields. Have to admit I am glad to be rid of the act 1 merc. She liked to run around like a chicken with its head cut off too much. Now, at least she has a merc that will stand his ground! :crazyeyes:

Soulcatcher finished act 2. The build is very strong, hydras + fireball are tearing through everything not fire immune, while frozen orb is more than strong enough for the rest. The merc dies from time to time, but what can you do?
Notable finds - Gul runejig, second elite unique - Nord's Tenderizer, first TC80+ - Sazabi's Cobalt Redeemer and a 4os Colossus Voulge (will be ages before my merc can use it though). Soulcatcher is sporting a measly 67% MF (actualy, that's more than I thought I had :O). However, she has 75/75/75/74 resists, 9 frame cast rate, 7 frame hit recovery and 47% FRW.
The merc couldn't tank Duriel, so he (she?) was taken down by casting hydras in the middle of the room and constantly teleporting around. Dropped only useleess rares and magics. Don't think I've ever seen him drop anything usefull.
On to act 3! Going to try to continue the "/players 3 in outdoor areas, /players1 in indoor areas" strategy, will see how it goes.
Yet another rules question (maybe the last one?) - is it accepted to "reroll" ancients when they spawn with tough mods? If it is, does it come with a style point penalty, or is it a usual thing to do?

Well, I finally got back to Trinity. She finished up normal at level 35, playing as an aggressin. Her final skills for normal were 20 Claw Mastery, 2 BoS, and 15 Dragon Talon. The only really interesting find was this:
All she was trying to do was use the 3 standard gem recipe to make a 1os Quhab semi-useful, and this beast (for normal anyway) came out.
She had a really interesting couple of moments fighting the second wave in the throneroom -- without CBF she got hit with cold from the cold mages, while Baal simultaneously decrepified her, all while she was trying to melee with Achamel. SSSShhhhheeee sssssttttaaarrrttteeddddd mmmooovvviiiinnggggg rrrreeeeallllyyyy ssssllllooowwwllyy.
I left things on /p1 since I started playing her again in Act 3, which is why she's a bit underlevelled. After her respec to 19 dragon tail, 14 shadow warrior, 1 BoS, she pretty much tore up the den of evil with these boots:
She had no problems in normal, except for groups, since she could hit only one monster at a time. With DTail, she shouldn't have that problem, so I will probably go with a higher /p setting.
Playing an agressin was really fun, so I think I will play one through the entire game sometime.

Just finished act 3. Clearing the jungles and even Travincal on players 3 wasn't very hard. Also did the temples, they were a little scary, but not as tough as I thought they'd be. The merc has stopped dying so frequently, for some reason. Maybe I've just gotten better at taking care of him.
For some reason the Gidbin was nowhere to be found. I clicked the altar-thingy, killed all the falyers that appeared, but none of them dropped the Gidbin. The quest stays active for now, I'll go back and do it when I hopefuly become guardian.
Notable finds were Tal Rasha's belt and Pul rune! It's crazy, I now actualy have the runes for the runeword Oath in an untwinked single pass tournament. :crazyeyes:
Mephisto was easy to say the least. In return he dropped ony yellows and blues. Also realised, we're continuisly killing a future Diablo 3 character in this game.
Thinking about dropping to players 1 in all areas now, there is a notable increase in difficulty between act 3 and 4 in normal and nightmare, not sure if it's the same in hell. Will see.

She ended at 6 BoS, 20 DTail, 14 SW, trying to kick a Stone-Skin Cursed bosspack. She had been going along very quickly, but was running with a repeating crossbow for the -40 wsm, so she had no shield. She had a high enough kick speed that she got off three kicks before getting hit, but none of the three connected, and she'd been depending on the KB from the fire explosions as crowd control. The first hit took about 90% of her life ball off and cursed her, so she didn't have a chance.
I think I will end up playing a DTail-without-TS build again, but I think I will do it in SC. It was a blast to play her, running around kicking things in the face incredibly fast.
She died in the barracks at level 42, with 2 missing waypoints, for a total of 116 points.

Zelda now rests on the docks. With the new merc, the desert wasn't difficult at all. The best part of the act was a trap that turned to gold. Haven't seen that happen to often.

I'm going to use this character for magic finding, so I skipped the Nihlatak temples and cows. I did however, click on all evil urns, so I hope I get at least a few style points.

I feel a little cliche but I started a sorc up for this tourney as well. It may seem like the easier route, maybe, but I like some of the lower level skills. So this is the perfect excuse to use them. I'm going with charged bolt for crowd control and ice blast for single targets. It's been going pretty well so far with only one NDE. I was surrounded by Blood Raven's zombies and was having trouble getting out of the pack. Luckily I survived and took her out. Not too far as RL is busy for me as well as Ilshad, but still playing when I get a decent chance.

Congratulations on the Guardian, especially the first one. Orb-Hydra is one of my favorite builds in 1.12 and I imagine it is even stronger in 1.13. (Although, I prefer 20 in CM for a very killer Frozen Orb but to each his own!)
Glad you enjoyed the tournament format. I actually did start a character (Druid) but life somehow got in the way over the past few months so he's somewhat stalled. I'll see if I can pick him up and add him into the table at some point.

Net was down here because of a storm so i was gonna play up til A5 to update. Got all the way to big D. I staticed him almost all the way down, the he bone prisoned me. With no damage spells except static i was doomed. Thx for the tourny! Good luck to the remaining players!
