Anything with teleportation in v 1.07.

You can sometimes land a tri-immune teleporation boss that is part of the quest. Lord De Seis, FI/CI/LI/tele is more or less unkillable for a sorc, even if cold mastery ignores CI.

But the worst I've seen must be 1.07 Hephasto The Armorer. He is *STRONG* as it is, and stone skin (PI) tele cursed makes him more or less impossible. Not to mention that he seems to get faster as his HP gets lower.

Yes, I remember him in Classic (v1.03 was the one I played at the time). Extra Strong, Cursed, Magic Resistance already in Normal. The bane of Sorcies, especially if he spawned with Teleport in later difficulties.

It does not just seem it. He is faster (both running and attacks) when he gets hurt. That is still the case.



Another toughie for Sorcies was Wyand Voidbringer. Nowadays, the Council guys can only heal other monsters, not themselves. Back then, Wyand had TWO kinds of endless healing abilities (regular Council ability, plus Teleportation ('Heal-a-portation', as many players called it)). And you couldn´t buy mana potions either.

Presumably anything with extremely high HP and the FE bug, especially in NM. I have recalled reading a thread that a 4k HP barb was deeds by FE Lister in 1 hit.

Yes I rember that my sorc took him out on attempt 1,239 when a U shaped 'fire lake' spawned in the map. I firewalled (yes, I had a Firewall sorc, just like I had in Diablo I) him to death in 40 minutes :crazyeyes:

The worst bosses are the act 5 living bombs, they leave no treasure and provide no XP :smug:

All the fallen always say "Rakanishu!" and the first time I saw him I was like "omg that's the rakanishu they're always talking about!"

I'll have to agree with Krischan's point, those are hopeless.

IIRC, there was a patch (1.07?) Where a monster shrine could affect the "Invisible Baal" in the worldstone keep. Would have been cool if he got cursed conviction extra fast :D

Fighting Baal in 1.07 is bad enough afaik

You need lots of FHR, or his mana breath will instagib you

Yeah, almost 600 damage every 5th frame IIRC.... so you need 4frame FHR breakpoint....

Any of the big monsters with Extra Fast/Fanaticism and Cursed are bad. The ones I mean are: Thorn Tree guys, Pinheads/Urdars and Minotaurs. They're so fast sometimes that they seem to just teleport right on your toes and there's not a whole lot you can do to get away.

Gloams and Gloams with conviction. They really do enough when you've got 75% res all, and now you've got 0 or less!

Last one being the spearcats in Act 5 that have the piercing attack. I've rerolled many games with my summoners just to get away from these, they're pure hell if they come with Cursed or really anything that helps their javelins do even more damage than before...

Me and my friend encontered this boss while looking for the tome. It doesn't look like much, but we are both berserkers. I decided to just let this monster live another day, my friend decided the same long before me :)

Conviction gloams/souls are always a bit... problematic.

TheBigClown: PI/MIs appear all the time in the Tunnels. No problem for a meteorb sorc, but it seems yours is cursed and has found a good place to spoil corpse retrieval attempts :azn:

If you have poison damage, Prevent Monster Heal or Open Wounds (to stop regenreation), your rogue should be able to kill this beastie with her elemental damage. Of course, you have to survive for a long time for it to happen. Personally, I would have shopped the vendors for a Shocking throwing weapon or something.

I haven't paid the tunnels a visit for ages. I guess I'll keep it that way. At least it won't be with my berserker :crazyeyes:

I wear grief and gore riders so I got plenty of mods to stop regeneration. Never the less, this particular contekst makes an easy-to-kill-by-other-classes-moster a difficult and time consuming task. As a zerker this rarely happens (unless you visit the tunnels I hear :crazyeyes:).

I'd like to know too. But speaking of those, I encountered a bosspack of those.

2-3 hit KO on my pally, had to bring in my tanky Barb to at least kill the boss and get rid of the damn aura.

Half physical, half fire AFAIK. The ones in the throne room level can amp you BTW.

You can block them BTW, so if running zigzag doesn't help, e.g. because of close quarters, switch off run mode. However, I usually apply a "kill here, run a bit, kill elsewhere" strategy, so my character is already at a different positition when the balls reach the intended destination.

Extra Fast Cursed Aura Enchanted (Fanat/Might) on the big minotaur guys or Doom Knights is the scariest combo I can think of.

I found this in the wiki, its a bit confusing..

# All types of Succubus have a magic damage melee hit that always hits when used.

Bloodstar 47-84

So when they hit you with their feet/claws/whatever that is magic damage and Bloodstars are their ranged attacks? According to wiki those do only physical damage, don't know why I thought its mixed (like krischan).

Amp and might witches, that just inhuman :D
