Matriarch Medusa

Well, this isn't my first Mat.. I'll post the second one once I get inspired to finish the story following her journey...

LF/CS (Charged Strike) with FA backup... Aka Fishyzon

After reading around I was looking for a fun character to do WSK runs with, I don't like to watch other things kill for me so necro was out of the question.. This seemed to be perfect, LF zons are something I've always loved once the skills actually became useful a long time ago before I assume most people even played the game.. (Yes, I've been at D2 since 2000 =D)

I forgot to take an endgame screenshot, mostly because I was so damn furious after spending 2 hours on the ancients and when I saw all blue it wasn't worth my time.. but here's aprox what they were..

Merc just had basic Insight/Shaft/Gaze (Sorry for my stupidity before)


I'm not sure if it's just luck or not, but my hellforge drops were all the lowest you can get per difficulty so don't expect to see any screenshots :p

Though, This and this dropped throughout my travels. They were the only non-boss worthy items. She had also found Gheed's off nm Baal and Mav's armor from Hell Diablo...

One moment that had me go "WTF" because I had never seen this in all my years of playing was at the Catacombs.

She also has great luck with charms, she found herself a harpoonist GC (can't remember where) and also 1 7%MF sc and 2 6% SC's.


I have to say, this was very fun except for the ancients and after reading about "The perfect Javazon" I'm already trying to find those items because I would make another in a heartbeat.

It seems a bit suspicious for a "new" SPer to have Infinity so quickly. Also, your infinity displays the wrong aura - haxxor! :D

Edit: pwned. I spent a few minutes looking through all of your 70 posts to see if someone had loaned you the infinity before actually looking at your screen shots.

Congratulations! One of the main problems I see with your character is the lack of IAS. That really hurts your kill speed, though with LF and CS, you'd hardly ever notice. =). You made some very interesting choices with your gear. Was that because of a general lack of something better? In any case, I'm sure that'll be remedied at least a little by the Pindlethon. Good luck with that.

Using Jab with a little bit of Crushing Blow (Goblin Toe, if nothing else) goes a long way towards your success. If you don't like that, there's always the 'EthEthEthEthEthEth' Phase Blade route, though an Amazon with a sword and max block could probably block herself to death...

Chrome Shelled Regios?! You break away a little from all the mainstream stuff with THAT?! hehe.

Infinity was a misspost.. Insight is the true word.. I was playing with Thyiad last night so I had infinity on my mind.. I appolgize! *feels stupid*

Give it about 3-4 weeks and it'll be mainstream.. I normally try to jump on anime before they become very popular..

Grats on the Mat! That catacombs map is crazy...heheh... That is the closest I have ever seen the staircases together.

I had problems on the Ancients with my Fishyzon too, I know a couple other recent Mat threads also mentioned having problems with them. In my case it was at least partially because I had horrible luck on their mods (jerks kept spawning Cursed with Might or Fana, and often dual LI/CI... sigh), and also I had a squishy Prayer merc who couldn't tank them that well. You seem to be using Prayer too, from what I can tell from your screenshots. I found it a quite useful aura through the rest of the game since the Fishyzon doesn't leech very well (and there's the Insight synergy), but it isn't all that helpful against the old dudes on Arreat.

I am actually using Defiance merc... Got him at level 18 and I haven't looked back. I find the titans have enough leech that it's not really a problem, plus my belt is always full just incase.

Now I just have to figure out what I'd want to make next, as Medusa gets parked in WSK.

I also use a defiance merc for my fishyzon. The merc has:

eth andy's
eth stone
non-eth insight giant thresher

His defense is over 21k.

I've only got one eth insight and it's on my meteorb. I can't be bothered to swap out everytime I want to play my zon, so she's stuck with a non-eth for now.
