Switching to HC and giveaway advice

I've decided that I want to experience the greater challenge (and built in attrition) of full HC play! Not that I've ever made guardian or even psudo-guardian, but I don't die too much anyways and I felt the need to start over fresh.

Which means...FREE ITAMZ! I consolidated all my gears into one stash (over 2500 items - yes I'm a horrible pack rat.) A lot of its junk but a lot of it's useful, too, and there's a (very) small selection of godly gear as well.

As I've been fully self-found and never traded, I have NO idea the best way to go about this and would love some advice. I'm fairly busy/lazy to do a full giveaway on the trade forums so the two ideas I had were:

1: Have somebody far more qualified than me sort through everything and do the giveaway for me. As payment that person would, of course, get first crack.

2: Play hot potato: Send the stash off, first person to recieve it selects 3-5 things, thay then send it off to the next person, they select 3-5 things, send it off, and so on down the line.

Any general advice on HC is, of course, appreciated as well.

(BTW this would be SC 1.11 RWM)

Ah, Ive overlooked this (1pm here) anyways, Id suggest you to wait till you have time and then do it there. Methinks its the purpose of splitting forums in two in the first place - to distinguish strategy and trade/giveaways and to make it easier for mods to track things. But hey, Im not MOD. So its maybe my fantasies
If you still dont have time, maybe ask someone to run the giveaway for you? Ive seen such things

Couple tips...

Giveaways are hard work but worth it. I am currently hosting one for another member who decided to go entirely self-found so he was starting over. He didn't have the time to giveaway his items so I'm doing it for him. Anything more than responding once or twice a week gets to be a challenge with making stashes and sending emails... along with playing the game still. But that said, it's still worth it.

Second....hot potato is generally frowned apon around here. Too difficult to keep track of and keep it going. Too difficult to deal with when someone gets the stash and it doesn't make it to the next person. Best bet would be to just give it out in one big stash with the hope that the next person will host their own giveaway, either in the same bulk manner or item by item.

either way, good luck with the transition to HC. Someday..... maybe I'll do that too. Got too many things I haven't even begun to experience yet. Let me know if I can help with any other giveaway advice but I'm sure there are more experienced givers out there.

I'd suggest talking to Thy or Sirpoops about it, since you're not familiar with trading around here. Especially if there are godly items, etc. There are some restrictions due to the trade rules. Which you should probably read too.

Thanks for advice, sent poops a PM (he's on right now.) I've read the trade rules and old giveaway FAQ, they still weren't clear on how to conduct nonstandard giveaways, that's why I started the post rather than just start handing stuff out. I guess its pretty clear I just want to email the stash to someone and be done with it, huh?

We don't do trading in the SPF. Please take anything like that to the SP Trade Forum. It has it's own Stickied Rules that you need to read, and follow before proceeding. If you don't have time now, then I suggest you wait until you do. Zip the stashes and email them to yourself; they won't go anywhere.

You have to follow the NTPP and Trade Profile rules even if you give the stash to someone else to give away. Pass the stash giveaways are not acceptable; the error rate is far too high. Yes it is, I checked the last time someone asked.

HC:
Plenty of better HC players than me out there but check the SPF Stickies for the low level MFing guides for HC, any of Nightfish's Guardian threads and the Mat/Pat/Guardian Stickied thread for HC build guides and playing tips.

The HC tourneys have very good write ups with great ideas in there too.

From personal experience, don't play tired, tipsy, in a bad mood, in a rush. Or if you do, accept you are going to die.

Hey Alzakarr, welcome to the DarkSide (HC I mean). It can be rewarding and satisfying but know that you will die in the process too. But that makes the challenge all that more inviting. GL with the Guardians.
