I've never played that build before, but it sounds like it will work, you have both physical and fire damage, and tanks, so no problems in Hell..hopefully! hehe. Be careful with neglecting Life, remember that you will be restricted by your items so not much +Life mods. Especially when you encounter Gloams and other powerful ranged attackers. Also Late game you probls likely to use low level full/partial sets for the resist bonuses rather than bits and bobs of higher greens. So not too much Str will be needed, so without str and vit im assuming mana will be base? or near base? so lots of extra stat points. My Strat was max vit and high dext for block, and resist gear. (this might sound obvious lol.) But i have had 2 chars killed in this tourney so maybe I am wrong! hehe. I suggest early gambling for Artic mf set bonus! GL

Welp, Sadler is officially on the wagon. One of those wailing beast dudes was kind enough to drop her this, which pairs nicely with the Superior Scepter she's now using. Sadler's had remarkable luck finding charms, which have given her decent 18/6/0/6 resists with one green item and the rest white and gray. She's rocking a +2 Frozen Armor Short Staff on the switch, which helps her already decent defenses (due to aggressive shopping of superior Ring Mails and Helms). Mahala is the real killing force, though - she does 13-29 damage from better range, shoots those lovely cold arrows (which slow targets walking through my Blaze), and uses Inner Sight, which helps keep Sadler whacking away. I've been taking Screenshots of things that it saddens me to have to sell: parting with this, this, and my Countess drop hurt my Single-Player soul. I've made some mistakes - selling chippies early, wasting my imbue on a Quilted Armor for amusement - but I have managed to save a ton of Emeralds and a few Strength charms. I've been trying to gamble the Cleg gloves, too, to no avail. I'm beginning to think that perhaps I should have used a Cold spell as the ultimate finisher, but ah well. Maybe I'll junk the Chain Lightning plan and dump a bunch of points into the cold armor that damages things.

well i have no sets as of yet as i stated hopeing andy ... or the road to her via smith will bring me luck

Edit:: lvl 19 sitting in cata 4 as we speak still no sets andy better drop the lots tbh cos i aint happy :(

edit again sorry but ive just killed her and im now the proud owner of hsarus boots :)

I will definitely join this tournament once this semester's over (may 9th). I'm not sure what I'll be playing. Probably some type of......honestly I have no idea.

Well ive found it best to go the least item matinence char IE sorc or summoner but i think my build could work .. well i hope it can

I cant edit my last post so sorry for double posting made it to arcane lvl 23 i havent got time for full clears but im doing my best just got my second set item angelic armor i know rings of that set are common so hopefully ill get so partial set bonus's soon

I have very bad notice for the tournament table.
My envylord was slain 5 minutes ago :cry:.
I am going to altar of sun and without problems I found 2nd level of claw viper temple. But there I am going using right side of room and fangskin with his minions surround me and I rest without skelies whitch are fighted againist bone wariors. Some of minions charge me and I must immediatelly ude full elixire but after second full next charge kill me and 75% block do not rescue me.

Now I am very frustrated and sad. This could be my first guardian but in one second finished my adventure. I will try forgot for this and re-enter with other char (maybe trapsin) but It will be very hard find another motivation for me beacuse now I will training and prepairing my blizzsorc for MF pentathlon and maybe I will make some HF rush.

RIP Envylord. Too bad as you were leading the pack. Bella will make sure to avenge you when she reaches Act2 Hell. Right now, I'll be glad just to make it to Conqueror. :grin:

Bad news, I was execting your guardian too... Maybe you could try another HC attempt, this time without restriction of some tourney, to finish your first guardian :smiley:

Or go back to green tourney and kill them all :evil:

Oh my, rest in peace envylord.

Too bad to hear that. I wanted to follow your steps and draw a bit from your experience in this tourney :wink3:. Now I will see if Filip manage to get further. Necro is quite safe among his army, but if he happen to be alone, then he is easy prey for ugly monsters.

@sequana: Sorry that I failed I was too sure that I can not die in that passage with my army. My army was far from me in that moment and that moment decided about my life. Now I know where I make a decisiv?e mistake but before battle every is general. Almost you aproach that point I can help you if is in my options. :smiley:

R.I.P. Envylord. That place really is a potential death trap.
Blocking is no help against the Charge attacks from snakes (and shambling undead) - the main reason they are so dangerous in small areas.

Hehe I think this must be some rule, always when you start think this on HC, the death is closer than anytime before (one my HC java could talk about this...). At least now I know that if I start to be a bit freeminded, it is better to stop with playing for that day :tongue:.

R.I.P. Envylord. I thought for sure you were going to rush past all of us. My very first HC character died in the very same spot. :cry:

I’ve been lax in updating Venus’ progress. She is currently cooling her heels in Harrogath. Before she started Act III she cleared out the false tombs at the end of Act II. This was a good idea, as she netted Isenhart’s horns for her merc Emilio. Emilio also got a Berzerker’s Hauberk in Upper Kurast.

Down in the Durance, Venus snagged for herself Vidala’s Snare from a Blood Lord and Sander’s Superstition from Meph himself. Not too bad! Now she’s gambling Light Plated Boots trying to snag Vidala's Fetlock for the resist all and, more importantly, finally some MF...

Act IV is usually a quick one, especially since Venus had Static Field to knock down Izual on /p8 much quicker than usual. Diablo gave us nothing green, but De Sies dropped Cleglaw’s Pincers. That makes her first full set! OK, they’re mostly worthless items, but the 15% resist all from the shield comes in handy. It’s definitely not worth her carrying the Tooth over Sander’s Superstition, though. I think she might switch to an Act V merc to carry the Tooth and wear the Hauberk.

Do not forget the Crushing Blow for the full set! In the last tourney, that helped my druid Burt a lot against certain bosses in Hell.
(but your sorceress probably needs a rogue or Blessed Aim merc to hit properly in the late game).

Good point. I thought about that, but since I was reluctant to put enough points into DEX for Venus to even carry the Tooth, her to hit% is going to be dismal! :rolleyes:

For now Static Field will do just fine, but I know it gets capped at 50% in Hell. I'm less certain about Crushing Blow. IIRC it is not reduced in higher difficulty levels. Is that correct?

No, it´s not reduced, although it´s sort of self-controlling since you only remove 1/10 of the remaining hit points on an act boss (the effect is further reduced by physical damage resistance, if the boss has any).

It is still a big help getting their life from 50% to, say, 5-10% reasonably quickly.
