Is there gonna be 1.12 ?

There is a big thread on the suggestions page for 1.12 suggestions. But is there any word from blizz for 1.12 ?

Maybe they won't give a crap.... since they are probably working on Diablo III ;)

probably wont be a 1.12, they probably dont give a crap, and at this rate, there probably wont be a D3, and im probably correct, unfortunately.

I'm not too sure we'll ever see 1.12, but to say that Blizz "doesn't give a crap" isn't giving them very much credit for 1.10, 1.11, and the recent public dupe patch.

There's also good reason to think that there will be a D3, just because it is taking a long time doesn't mean it won't come.

Blizzard has to... just think of the hundred thousand players that quit diablo II because it's so old :D and got bored of it.

Not sure on v1.12 for DiabloII, then again I'm not sure that D3 will be a dircet sequel if and when it comes out, we might see a World of Diablo type game. The idea of that seems possible since World of Starcraft was just announced..

If anything I'd think World of Starcraft makes it less likely that D3 would be an MMO.

Maybe D3 will be an RTS :flip:

I doubt starcraft would be another World of~. That would be just plain stupid. Dont think Blizzard want to compete with themselves, i think they bet their mmorpg on World of warcraft.

I read an article somewhere saying there would definitely be a continuation of the diablo franchise, in what form I can't say. Nor did they say any sort of time-frame. Honestly though, they would be dumb not to continue with something so lucrative.

As for 1.12, they may, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it any time soon.

Eh? I don't remember that patch.

Taken from the battle.net front page

"We will be releasing Patch 1.15 for StarCraft within the next few weeks. This patch introduces new functionality to Battle.net that allows players to organize and join custom StarCraft leagues. These leagues support stat-tracking, custom icons, and replay uploading, among other features. Check out the StarCraft LDK page for more information."

My money is on Starcraft 2, as in an RTS form. It'd be really silly as a World of, don't you think? I didn't think much of the rumors until EA confirmed that Blizzard hired one of the guys from the old Westwood Studios. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. Who knows what direction they'll take Starcraft in? I'm not really looking forward to it but, if they keep it original and don't do any cheesey rip-offs of other RTS games, I might check it out.

I'm guessing they'll(I'll wager) make use of squads instead of the single units, like everyone else is doing. What would totally surprise me though is if they went for the capping locations economy versus the mining economy of old.(Dawn of War series, Company of Heroes) Hell it's probably ten years away from being made though knowing Blizzard.

Heh they should call the RPG starcraft "Starcraft Universe" instead since it fits the game settings more.

But yeah, aren't we all tired of the swords and magics settings? Let's roleplay with some high-tech stuff hehe. It's gonna be like eve online... except blizzard would probably come up with some crazy game idea and own it.

couldn't agree more. Also, dropping a title that has been (still is) so successful would be completely stupid really. As for patch 1.12, I don't know, maybe a bit of honey to get the fan base waiting for the continuation.
