What is the best build for survival in Hardcore

When I used to play using a bowazon was a really good idea or so I was told. I'm just a little curious to see what you guys view as the best build to use

1) Summoner Necro
2) Lightning Trapper
3) LF Javazon

In that order. If you kill all 3 before making Guardian with at least one you are highly irregular.

Agreed. There's just one problem, I personally find Summoners and Trappers very boring and that may cause death (no, not the boredom, I mean not being aware while playing). But that is just me, some find them very entertaining builds.

Have fun in HC

Summoners are able to kill pretty much anything, with plenty of meatshields to save your bacon. The downside is that you can get pretty lax at watching your back and gearing for survival, spelling your doom if something does get through.

Trappers are very quick to decimate normal and nightmare, but could become a pain in hell if you don't have a good way to kill lightning-immunes.

Wind druids have virtual elemental immunity, strong damage, and oak sage for tons of life. A very solid choice; I've taken an untwinked windy to guardian.

Paladins can max block and resists fairly easily. Hammerdins or avengers can kill anything in the game without trouble, while having great defensive capabilities.

Play what you enjoy, and dodge the PKs! It's better to have fun and deeds than plod through with something that doesn't fit you.

I wouldn't say summoners kill slowly, I've been playing with my untwinked summoner for past 4 days and took him from 54 to 74 easily without playing many hours a day. Soon as corpse explosion was around lvl 10-14 the trip to throne room got much quicker, before that it did take few mins more.

In hell summoner goes through everything pretty damn fast with CE, just wait for merc to kill one and start CE chain, everyone are dead before you know it. Did few pit runs much faster than ever did with my CL/FO or hammerdin.. and those were twinked chars. :p

I recently started my first HC char ever and also my first summoner ever. I've always hated summoners ever since I used to play lan games with my roomies. Those jerks .. there was about a million minions filling my screen everytime I played with them :sad2: . However, my summon neccy is doing well ... level 21 laddder east. Also, for the first time I can see that there are little subtleties that are involved in playign a summoner <--- this coming from a person that plays pallys and sorcs almost exlcusively. So, if you're looking for somethign fun and maybe a little different than what youre used to I would highly recommend a fishymancer (I guess there is always a possibility you only play neccys .. if so disregard anything I say).

P.S. - you dont have to worry about gear.

Definitely NOT a bowazon. Anything without a shield = bad.

Generally, I would agree with this statement. . .except for the bowazon part.

I just got done knocking off Diablo in Hell with a Frost-maiden. She is a virtual wrecking ball. Built, played, and equipped correctly, and with a complementary merc, I would rank a bowie right up there with any build as far as survival. I don't mean twinked, either. Just outfitted with complementary gear.

Make a pala and use defiance and holy shield max...then ur defence go skyhigh or make a exile to get defiance if u can afford and use other aura... maybe u got problems getting high dmg then

Its been said but whats worth saying once is worth saying agian...and agian..and agian...
Summoner is a really build for a couple of resons.
Lots of meatshields
Ok damage, but you need a Mite merc to get going
If you use CE(and why wouldn't you)they can clear intire screens of minions
Staying out of the battle is all you got to do
Even in bad lag spikes your skellys can help keep you alive
Easy to do naked, really easy to get gear for them so everything goes faster

There are more but those are the best ones a think. And skellys dont make lots of lag. They slow some things down but from my experince they dont make lag spikes...which means you cant move or tp or nothing. I hate it when it happens cause you cant fight back.

1.) sounds to me like the last time he played Bowazons were powerful, so I'm guessing that's 1.09 and thus he won't have the means for Exile.
2.) Defense is nice, but honestly in HC life/resists are MUCH more important imho.
3.) I'm not sure that your post was a coherent though, not to nitpick but please try to phrase your statements in a way to be more readily understood.

Cheers

Oops, forgot to give you my input, I've had every new person I've introduced into HC play a trapassin, they don't get bored like they can in Hell with a Summoner, and they aren't running many fewer defensive measures.
Cast traps ahead when entering unknown areas, keep your merc and shadow going and be quick with the mindblast/cloak of shadows and you'll be fine.

Mostly I just prefer the killing speed of LS/DS over Merc/CE and I think Fade is just as good as Bone Armor if not better.
If you decide to go with the Trapper, consider putting a point in Dtalon and keeping a pair of GoblinToes and a Crushflange in your stash, you can fly through act bosses if you lay out your traps, switch to CB them down low and then switch back to relay for the kill when slivered.

1. Summoner, slow but safe. It's hard to kill them even if you try. Booooooring!!

2. Traper, don't need gear, great for untwinked / first char, kill fast!
//took this char solo & untwinked all the way and killed baal hell

3. Wind druid, safe and kills well, but mana problems without good insight merc od nice gear, but no immunes vs him + nice Grizly tank.
//took this char solo & untwinked all the way and killed baal hell

4. hammerdin in Guardian Angel armor with Redemption aura + max res (wizzard spike = best weapon!) = immortal. Needs very little gear, but still can't be that safe when untwinked.

5. LF javazon - hybrid of light and psn = no immunes, nice Walk tank + dodges. Should be higher in the rank actualy...

Windy my main problem is a2 hell, theres a large percentage of cold immunes running around and with your phys dmg only doing half in some areas its a pain

Cheers

Gloams in A5 are PoI/LI last I checked... if it's not them then it's something else, but I know PoI/LI can exist in the WSK/throne.

Lol my first serious HC character was a bowazon. I got to about level 57ish solo/playing with my friends before I gave up trying to push forward. I didn't put enough points into pierce was my main problem. I even scrounged up enough money to buy a kuko bow, which is enough to take you into hell if you have the right skill setup. I went Strafe instead of multishot, permenantly ****ing up that build :P

Multishot > strafe in most cases -.-

I should go back and rebuild her sometime.

Getting 56% chance of hit in nightmare is NOT good.
