To Note
A few unique items have changed with the release of patches. All new unique items found will have the same stats as the ones in the table below, items found in 1.09 or earlier may have slightly different stats. Items that have had changes will marked with a * and the change will be listed under the table.
Unique shields have the most beautiful graphics of any items in the game. Every one of them has a customized unique appearance, and all are great. The larger canvas of a shield appears to give the Blizzard artists more room to work, and with that comes more inspiration.
- Smite Damage: Only Paladin's have the Smite skill, so only they see this damage. It's only of importance to other characters when considering a trade.
- Item Level: Monsters must be of this level to drop a particular item.
- Clvl Req: A character must be this level to equip the item. No Unique had Clvl Requirements until 1.07.
- Blocking % in D2: All shields vary in blocking percent by character. The Paladins is always 5% higher than an Amazon/Barbarian, and 10% higher than a Necromancer/Sorceress. Max blocking % is 75%, higher values than that are wasted.
- Blocking % for D2X only: The way blocking works is changed in the expansion. The new formula for blocking is:
(Block Chance * (Dexterity - 15)) / (Character Level * 2).
This formula basically means that if you have less than half of your stat points into dexterity, you will have a lower block rating, but if more than half of your stat points are in dex, then you will have a higher block rating. Blocking in the expansion is now much more common and can interrupt attacking. Blocking is reduced to 33% of normal when attacking or running, but uses regular values when walking or standing still.
- Weight: All shields are light, medium, or heavy. Light shields have no negative effects, medium have a -5% speed and -5% stamina regen rate, and heavy have -10% speed and -10% stamina regen.

Normal Uniques are identical in Diablo II and the Expansion.
1.08 Statistics
Many Uniques changed stats in v1.09. If the item was found prior to v1.09 it will have different stats. Items not listed below didn't have any changes.
- Pelta Lunata: +40 Defense, +10 to Life, +2 to Strength, +10 to Mana
- Umbral Disk: Hit Blinds Target +1, +10 to Dexterity, +40 Defense, +20 Life, -2 to Light Radius
- Stormguild: Magical Damage Taken Reduced by 1, +25% Lightning Resist, +30 Defense, +1-6 Lightning Damage
- Swordback Hold: Attacker Takes Damage of 5, +20% Increased Chance to Block, +50% Chance of Open Wounds, +20 Defense
- Steelclash: +25% Increased Chance to Block, +3 to Light Radius, +1 to Paladin Skills, Physical Damage Taken Reduced by 3
- Wall of the Eyeless: +5 to Mana After Each Kill, 3% Mana Stolen Per Hit, +20% Faster Cast Rate, +20% to Poison Resist, +30 Defense
- The Ward: +40 Defense, Magical Damage Taken Reduced by 2, +10 to Strength, +10% Increased Chance to Block
Exceptional
These Exceptional Uniques are only found in the Diablo II Expansion, not in Diablo II.
1.08 Statistics

- Visceratuant: +2 To All Necromancer Skills, +80 Life, 30% Faster Blocking, +25% Chance to Block, +80% Enhanced Defense.
- Stormchaser: +35 Maximum Damage, +20% Chance to Block, Half Freeze Duration, +35% Lightning Resistance, +150 Attack Rating, +60% Enhanced Defense.
- Tiamat's Rebuke: +5-10 Cold Damage 6 Second Duration, +10-25 Fire Damage, +14-28 Poison Damage over 5 Seconds, +8-16 Lightning Damage, +10% Chance to Block, +25-30% Resist All, +10-20 Damage.
- Lidless Wall: +0.5 Absorb Poison Damage per Clvl, +4 Light Radius, +5 Strength, +5 Dexterity, +5 Vitality, +5 Energy, +80% Enhanced Defense, 50% Faster Blocking.
- Lance Guard: +35% Mana, Attacker Takes 25 Damage, +60% Enhanced Defense, other stats are same, but no Deadly Strike.
