Only the first three unique rings can be found in D2C. The rest were added in D2X.

  • Unique jewelry can be gambled in Diablo II, except in patch versions 1.07 and 1.08.
  • Item Level: Monsters must be of this level (Mlvl) to drop a given Unique item.
  • Clvl Req: A character must be this level to equip the item.

Unique Ring Odds

These apply to v1.10+. Prior to v1.07 in D2C, the three unique rings dropped in a set order. See below for more details.

Unique RingsQlvlRarity
Nagelring1015
Manald Heal2015

Dwarft Star5310
Raven Frost5310
Bul Kathos' Wedding Band661
Carrion Wind683
Nature's Peace773
Wisp Projector841
Total:84+59
  • The "Rarity" odds assume that the monster dropping the ring is capable of dropping every unique ring in the game. Hence, if a monster able to drop the Wisp Projector drops a unique ring, there is a 1/75 chance it will be the Wisp Projector.
  • If the monster's Mlvl isn't high enough to drop some of the rings, the rarity odds change accordingly. For example, an Mlvl 40 monster could only drop the first three rings, so it would have a 15/31 chance to drop Naglering, 15/31 to drop Manald Heal, and 1/31 to drop the Stone of Jordan, vs. the 1/59 chance that a unique ring from an Mlvl 84+ monster will be an SoJ. This is why it's best to hunt for some items (such as the Stone of Jordan) on lower levels.

Unique Rings

Rarity is expressed as items per 1000 items of that type, e.g. The Stone of Jordan is listed at 18.9/1000. This means that out of 1000 unique rings dropped that were high enough level to be The Stone of Jordan, 18.9 would be, on average. Expansion odds are listed.

We have it listed on our Unique Rings page, and the ring's full stats are listed in the game files, but it has a 0, instead of a 1, in the "completed" column in uniqueitems.txt, the actual game file that sets the properties on Unique items, which makes it undroppable.

Ring Generation Order in D2C

This applies only to Diablo II Classic, prior to the v1.08 patch.

The game always drops the rings in the following order:

  • Nagelring > Manald Heal > Stone of Jordan

If the game determines to drop a Unique Ring, it checks to see if a Nagelring is in the game or has already been generated in that game. If not, one will always drop. If there is a Nagelring, it does the same check for a Manald Heal, and will drop one unless there is one in the game or already generated in that game. If so, it performs the same check on the Stone of Jordan. If all three are in the game, a Rare Ring will be generated.

Therefore, if a character was carrying a Nagelring and Manald Heal and a unique ring generated from a monster or gambling, it would always be a Stone of Jordan.
