Your idiot friends... ==b

Bascially to make a long story short, one of my old friends got back into Diablo II last night, and we decided he could help us do some socket rushing (rush a character solely for the socket quest reward and use it immediately on a white item in storage). I passed him a 12% ED Eth Colossus Voulge, and I was going to punch holes in my 15% ED Zweihander. ==

Well, my idiot friend sold the damn Colossus Voulge... ><#

Anyone else had something crappy happen to them because of idiot friends? O=
 
I gave a ~10% def sacred rondache and a Spirit rune set to one of my friends and he put in the Spirit runes in the wrong order. However (and that's the point of the story), I gave him a Hel to unsocket it and another set of runes and then he made a 35% FCR one on the spot :grin:
 
I found a two socketed, eth, rep dura, dual leech good % ED small crescent off'a hell Diablo, and then went and had a friend xfer it for me with a couple other things.
When I came back, he said he sold it for gold because 'it was crap'.

Countless screwed up runewords, too.

One guy ebayed himself a level 85 hammerdin with all the gear. I asked him to help out with the Anya quest on Nightmare. He friggin dies eight times. I actually had to clear his body for him and tele the rest of the way.
When we got to Hell Anya, it got even worse. He died twenty-seven times. Again, I had to tele the rest of the way with my at the time semi-naked level 70 sorc. When I opened a TP, somehow by some grace of God, he goes in and dies, again!! The buttmunch leaves the game so he could rejoin, and he gets busted with a realm down for leaving/rejoining a game a total of twenty-eight times.
Oh, and he got his gosu hammerdin jacked by falling for the /DND scam.
 
Someone asks you to type /dnd acc name and pass. It is said by the scammers to be a solution to see your b.net status that could be quiet interesting if your joining the scammers clan... Pretty old trick.

This is very funny! You should've let him die enough times to pop his body and loot all his items:smiley:

A scam that scammers tell you to type "/dnd yourAccountName yourAccountPassword" for whatever reasons they can come up with. Once you do, they can send you a message and see your account password.
 
because /dnd is the b.net away message (do not disturb) anyone the messages you will be fed anything you type after the /dnd. Hence, they try to make up some scam to fool you into typing your account name and password up there....i've heard some pretty convicing scams too... :shocked:
 
LoL...reminds me of the first time my and my two buddies ran the Ubers. (These are guys I acctually know in real life)

We were getting our rear ends handed to us by Mephy and those two leave the game to go stock up on Full Juvies....on the way out, my one friend says "Don't leave this game!" (like I didn't know that :wink3: )

He didn't think I acctually would leave...but he had to let me know just in case...i just got a kick out of it...


(and yes, we did beat the Uber's that game...resulted in a Amazon Torch)
 
I try to keep my friends from making stupid mistakes. Usually they ask me if they are about to make a runeword or some cubing thing. I have had friends die for stupid reasons (like evil force or traps) while im rushing them. I usually take screenshots and look at them every once and a while.
 
evil force isn't such a bad thing to die to anymore. uber andy counts as an evil force. (maybe the other ones too. andy is the only one that has killed me.)


a friend of mine screwed up when setting hotkeys, and he killed himself with sacrifice.

another friend tried to max block with a spirit monarch.
 
lilith doesnt count as an evil force, her poison does. Afaik, when you get poisoned by her, you need to heal because her poison can kill you, and if it does the result is "was slain by an evil force"

I killed someone in a duel game with a firegolem once, and it said they were slain by an evil force.
I dunno what's up with that.

My guess would be that the fire aura from that golem finished of the last hitpoint? Not the golem himself landing the killing blow?
