ww lancer uber runner?

hi guys, i was thinking about making an uber runner, and was thinking about making it a lancer. i was wondering my chances of surviving without a shield though. besides the core build i'd probably drop my points into nat res, to make up for the lack of a shield.

my question is survivability and power, as in will i have both?
another question is how expensive should i expect this build to be? i'm not the richest person, i could probably afford a total of 4 or 5 HRs on useast to pay for this char eventually

A WW barb does not belong in Uber Trist. Life Tap cannot be triggered by WW attacks. No Life Tap=dead barb.

Lacking a shield isn't your problem, it will be the lack of fast attack speed that will ruin you. Life tap and crushing blow are more important than base damage and frenzy barbs just hit the most so that's probably the only really successful solo/team uber runner.

Even though I do use a Frenzy Barb myself to solo Tristram, it has been pointed out that a good Conc barb could successfully run it too. The main advantage I see is that when you name lock a boss you swing only at him, while Frenzy also attacks critters in range. This problem can be solved by a decent Howl spamming though . Maybe a lancer using Concentration as main ?
