Will a Dell Inspiron B120 run Diablo 2?

I'll make this to the point (Like my title heh)

Can the Dell Inspiron B120 run DIablo 2?
It has a Integrated Intel® Media Accelerator 900 Graphics Card
Intel® Celeron® M 360 (1.40 GHz/1MB Cache/400MHz FSB
512 MB RAM

I'm currently deployed to Iraq with a broken laptop and want a cheap one to hold me out for a year, which is why I'm looking that the bottom of the barrel laptop from Dell.

Other games I'd like to play are: Neverwinter Nights and Sacred Gold.

If any of you have this type of computer please leave me a quick message, we only get half hour of internet at a time here unfortunately. Thanks!

I run my diablo on a AMD Athlon 1.2 ghz with 256 mb so probably yes! I also played Neverwinter nights and sacred with no problems...

grz,

The requirements for Diablo II: Lord of Destruction are as follows, according to the manual:

Pentium 233 MHz or better processor
64 MB RAM
4X CD-ROM
Around 2 GB of hard disk space
8 MB graphics card
DirectX 6.1 or higher

In other words, anything being sold right now should run it (hey, it's an old game.) Not sure about the others, though...though Neverwinter Nights also strikes me as being pretty old.

Hope that helps.

Yeah, it should work, maybe put the video on Direct2d instead of Direct3d for more speed, but you can test that out and see for yourself.

I think my cellphone could run DII.

That reminds me, there was a thread here many moons ago ...someone did create a version of DII for a cell phone App.

D2 should work fine. I started playing D2 online when I still was using a 266MHz PII with 8Mb video-junk-something-with-fancy-name.

Though, Neverwinter Nights has some nasty graphics, and to have it smooth with that integrated card, you'll have to pull all details to lowest possible, low res, etc etc.
Might still be laggy, really, but playable.

@Gorny
Really? A java version? Or something connected to bnet?!?!!

It was a java version, simple too... in Italian I think, but this was around the time before i was a mod.

Never heard anything after that.

Usu and SN should remember it too.

I also remember somebody developing a version for cell phones and other handheld devices, with the blessing of Blizzard.

You don't need a fancy java version to emulate D2 on a cell phone. Just click over and over and over and over and over and then once every few days pretend you found a shako.

Yeah that computer will handle diablo 2 pretty well. Probably those other games as well. I pray for your safe return from Iraq.

Gorny-I never remember you not being a mod.

Before your time ;)

Thanks for all the responses, my only real concern was the video card. I probably should have said that in the first post, but you all caught on quick. I'll probably be ordering my new laptop in a day or so, then back into the world of Diablo!

In my opinion, anything nowadays in the laptop market are all using the piece of crap integrated cards. If I were you I'd try to get one with an ATI Radeon Mobility. I figure it shouldn't cost much more for just an X200, plus you'll be saving yourself from a fatal error, no pun intended.

My 260mhz laptop from 10 years ago could run d2 pretty decently. There are occasional visual lag spikes but you could get by using it as a rushing comp lol. Just don't play hardcore with it.
