Why werebear over werewolf for fireclaw?

? just wondering wouldnt the speed and stuff help a lot for fireclaw druid? or is the 25% more life a lot bettER?

yea but some might want to note that since you put 1 into both for them.

speed + life + def is greater on wb, which means that this is used for most duels like kaz and coldarmy said

BUT

ar is greater on wolf .. my bear has mad ar but still vs. hc defsive players 25-30k def. i sometimes us ww and do better b/c of the ar bonous i get. Works for me anyways :uhhuh: .

voice has a good point, however i look at it like this
bear vs wolf
more def (last longer) + more life (last longer) + one frame faster (more avg dmg per sec) vs more ar (more chances to hit, so more avg dmg per sec) + less life + less defense.
IMO, The Ar on fireclaws is abundant, i find it to be "enough". With the werebear, you hit 4fpa, the speed is just incredible that compensates for the lower ar compare to the werewolf.

I agree kaz i use wb 95% of the time .. but when your up against a pally w/ 25-30k def ... the ar bonus tends to help a lot more than bear mods IMO. I would never of tried it but i was dueling a pally w/ mass defence and 1 hit would take him down to around 1/4 life ... but i just couldnt get 2 hits on him ... so i was like hey lets try wolf form for ar ... i started beating him consistently. It works for me anyways so i just thought i would post it :surprise: as another option

good question... i would like to know the answer too... i think i'll go look at TheDragoon's Weapon Speed Calculator... be back with some answers, hopefully...

EDIT:
Druid Werebear

Druid Werewolf with slvl 32 Werewolf Skill
Weapon Class: One-handed Sword
Base Speed 30 with 0% OIAS

Fire Claws Breakpoints
Frames % WIAS
11 0 %
10 6 %
9 17 %

Basically, this means that since the wolves get an inherant IAS bonus, they're wias breakpoints are more spread out (to prevent them from becoming too godly) but since bears lack this inherant bonus, their bp's are closer together (maybe blizz screwed up... or maybe they just felt sorry for the bears)

i think it is also skill dependent b/c if you recall in 09 a ed/ias x 3 caddy would hit 4 frames on a wolf ... but wouldnt hit 4 frames on any bear, rule of thumb always use caculator before investing in a weapon.

while in werebear form, you attack faster. and you can even block the stash.

but in werewolf form, you can have rabies or fury which I think is a clear choice over werebears if you are up to a strong build that can solo hell baal + diablo fast, even in p8
