Which Sword for Crescent Moon?

See, I'm getting pretty close to collecting enough runes for 2x Crescent Moon swords. The problem is, I'm not sure which sword to use.

Legend Swords are the ones I keep hearing thrown about, and I'm guessing this is because they are the quickest and thus will trigger Static the most. However, the damage would be a lot better if I did it on a Mythical Sword, or even a Balrog Blade.

Is the quickness worth lesser damage?

And this is for a Frenzy barb in case I didn't make that clear enough.
 
for the runes, wouldn't there be better options? like some elite unique swords? just seems you won't be doing all that much damage with those.

I agree, but it's relatively cheap when you think about the runes it involves (Um-Shael-Tir). Um aren't the easiest to get, but much more so than Mal, Ohm, Zod, etc. If cost were no option, I'd be making 2x BotD in Ethereal CBs (or is it CSs that get 6 sockets?). But my funds are limited, and Crescent Moon does decent damage, but good damage when combined with Static Field going off so often.

But as I said before, should I be willing to sacrifice just a bit of speed by choosing mythical over legend swords and get more damage out of it? That's the question, I guess.
 
If you use dual CM Mythical swords with lvl 25 Frenzy and + 40 % IAS, you will reach a 6 FPS (4,1 attacks/sec). With dual CM Legend swords (lvl 35 Frenzy, and 40 % IAS), you will reach 5,5 FPS (4,5 attacks/sec), and finally with dual Balrog Blades FPS and 4,5 attacks/sec.
 
i meant, for using 2 ums. not just runewords in general. if you have all the runes (if you do countess runs you probably do) i'd make it in legend swords. the damage output because of the extra attacks per second will be greater, taking into account that static field will also be going off more frequently.

Yeah, this is the way I'm leaning right now. It seems that the extra speed will trigger Static Field enoug more that it will make up for the lower damage.

As for using Crescent Moon over other weapons that could be bought with an Um, I'm not sure. I don't see too many other swords that fit the Frenzy form and would cost under an Um. But then again, I remember that Ash had success using only Lightsabres for a while, although I can't remember if he said that there were better options.

This was a much easier decision when Fury Myths were easily the best Frenzy weapon. :)
 
I think that the Phase Blade is the fatest. Also, since it's indestuctible, no repair cost are associated with the sword (except for the charge for the wolves summon).

I personally use a Phase Blade Crescent Moon and I like it a lot. I'll say go for that instead.
