Whats all this stat reset talk?

How do you reset your stats? when did it start and how do you do it? can you do it as many times as you want? do you get to restart your str dex and your skills or what?

It has been introduced in patch 1.13.
It will reset all your stat points and skill points. You can respec once on each difficulty by completing the den of evil quest and then unlimited times by using the token of absolution (item obtained by cubing 4 different essences dropped by hell act bosses).

when i talk to akara she doesn't say reset, do you have to make a new charater or what?

Characters that completed the quest before patch 1.13 receives only one respec from Akara on Hell Difficulty.

Complete den of evil quest and akara can reset stats and skills. That means you get 3 free resets for stats and skills. If you want to reset more than 3 then you have no choice but to farm for essense which are collected from andy, mephy, diablo, and baal. Transmute the 4 different essense then you get a token of absolution. Right click it to reset stats and skills.

charged essence of hatred (andy, and meph drop)
Festering Essence of Destruction, (baal)
Twisted Essence of Suffering (Diablo)

soo my logic says Duriel drops the last, but havent really gotten any essences from him... soo how i get the last one ?

Actually Andy and Duriel drop the same essence (blue). Meph drops the yellow one, Diablo the red one and Baal the green one.

For me Meph's essence is the hardest to find. It's a big *** map that Durance lvl 3..

i didn't know meph could drop essences, been farming him for the past week and haven't seen a single one

yea meph never drops essences for me either, i tend to follow a meph run during a chaos game, most of them dont pick up the essences lol so i just snatch them up
