What do you do with your pgems?

Just wondering, what do you usually prefer to do with your pgems? Common potions would include:

1. Rerolling GCs
The standard way to gain skillers, and the highly valuable suffixed ones. Pros would be a high return on investment, but the usually high amount of rolls required before something really good comes out is a common hindrance.

2. Rerolling SCs
Baal SCs can get some really nasty elemental damage mods, and dual poison affix SCs are probably the highest source of secondary damage out there. Dual cold affix SCs are also valuable for the high extra cold duration they provide. Popular fine, shimmering, and single res prefix is also available, and the balance, good luck, and vita suffixes provides the most bonus/space compared to the other charm sizes. Ilvl 61 SCs are especially good for getting a high amount of resist and fine SCs.

3. Rerolling jewels
40% ED Ruby jewel of fervor is probably one of the most dreamt of items out there. Scintillating jewels, freedom jewels, max damage and 30% res jewels are also highly usable, although it probably will take a large amount of rerolling before a trade-worthy one pops out.

4. Trade it all for Rals and PAms, then craft caster ammies.
Probably the best amulets for casters are available through this most popular of crafting recipes. +2 to class skills, 20% FCR, res all, str/dex bonuses, who wouldn't want that? The catch is that 20%FCR doesn't spawn everyday, and when it does, it doesn't always spawn together with the other nice mods..

5. Let them gather e-dust, then trade them for items instead
Sometimes people prefer to just buy what they need, and Pgems is one of the two used currency (togetehr with runes). Hey, why bother rolling when you can just buy what you need... right?

Re: What do you do with your pgems?

I use the PAms and PRubies for crafting, and I gather the rest until I have enough to start rerolling GCs. I won't bother with SCs and Jewels as they aren't worth it imo. Also, I don't trade, so options 4 and 5 are out of the question.

Also, I voted crafting, as that's the most rewarding imo.

Re: What do you do with your pgems?

Currently I only reroll Baal grand charms. Before I had a good Baal runner I had no Baal charms and rolled LK charms. Even after I had a good Baal runner, Baal grand charms were scarce and I tried rerolling some Baal small charms. I found rolling small charms much less exciting.

Now that I have learned about how the area level of cows in 1.07 is 94 and hence chests and rocks drop ilvl 94 charms I can get high ilvl charms whenever I want. I find that it takes on average 4 or 5 full cow clears in 1.07 to find a grand charm from a body/rock/chest. Nihlathak's temple in 1.07 has an area level of 99, but even though there are several sparkly chests, after running for a couple of hours and finding no grand charms I am not likely to go searching there again.

Crafting is the best option for perfect amethyts.

Edit:
There's a poll? There wasn't when I started posting :p

Re: What do you do with your pgems?

Before I took a little break from d2, I was collecting them, to see how much I can get. Got about 4k LK runs worth of pgems(over 1k) stashed atm.

Re: What do you do with your pgems?

Mine are sitting in a stash, taking up shelving space until I decide to start crafting or rerolling. :S

Re: What do you do with your pgems?

Craft with the Pammys, holding onto the rubies to do the same but it's a much lower priority. With the others I roll GC's (working on ilvl50's right now because of abysmal results with the higher level ones[on multiple occasions I went over 100 rerolls without getting even a plain skiller] - I'm just looking for some skillers right now, though an added balance is always gg; I love ilvl99's though, and will be moving along to those when I finally come up with some of the certain type of skiller I want).

I also trade with them sometimes and will probably reroll some jewels in the future, but rerolling GC's and crafting are the main uses now.

Re: What do you do with your pgems?

I usually keep them as trad fodder. However, since I'm running LK I might start rerolling GCs for some skillers.

Re: What do you do with your pgems?

I don't tend to trade my pgems away as I don't usually have many. I do like to trade for them. I'm trying (and doing poorly) at saving PAmmys for caster amulets. Everything else gets used for rerolling GCs. Its tough. I've used a character (inventory and stash) and not gotten a skiller. And today on back to back rolls I got an Entrapping of Vita and a plain Captains. And I'm never sure weather to laugh or cry when I get a good second mod with a crappy +skill. I rolled a hexing with 30 odd life this morning. I'm not sure if I've ever rerolled a SC or a jewel.

Re: What do you do with your pgems?

Rerolling scs and especially jewels seems like a major waste. It seems like ~1 in 20 gc's I pick up is a skiller, but I have to pick up 100 sc's before I get anything decent, and several hundred jewels.

I just crafted >50 caster ammys with abysmal results. I've got a bunch of prubies saved up for crafting as well, but as my only melee char is on hiatus atm, that's not a priority.

I've decided that I'm going to make a new atma stash and throw all my pgems (cept amys/rubies) into it. Then when I reach a ridiculous number, maybe 3000, I'll start cubing gc's again. All of my current chars have pretty full inventories atm, so skillers aren't desperately needed (they'd be welcome, and I'd make room, but it'd be at the cost of life, mf, resists, etc.). Doing it all at once would be like opening presents on my birthday!

Re: What do you do with your pgems?

Yesterday used ~500 pgems to roll Prismatic amulets in 1.07, sure its not a good option for those playing 1.12 :) Saving PSkulls for whatever they could be useful in the future (probably just rerolling ilvl99 GCs in a later patch, I`m not considering any trading, I play with what I find myself).
Edit: Btw i do think SC is a good option, but only if you are ridiculously rich -like having dosens of thosuands of PGems(anyone?:)). Bcause it would take way too many pgems to roll enough godly scs to fill up at least a small part of your inventory.

I rolled some ~1500 for skillers (from 10k LK)

Now I have some ~350 sitting in a stash :)

Re: What do you do with your pgems?

Amethysts/Emeralds -> crafting (safety rings can be cool)
Skulls -> Rare Jewel Rerolls
Rest -> Charm rerolls (mostly GCs, some SCs)

Re: What do you do with your pgems?

I roll charms and jewels when I get tired of running Pindle and LK.

At the present time, my Pgem stash numbers some 2000+ items...mostly because I pick up every flawless gem I find and cube them up.

I have the same problem with low level runes. *sigh*

Re: What do you do with your pgems?

I mostly reroll GC's, but when I LK, I pick and cube for caster amulet crafting with the appropiate materials. A few gets traded, but less and less these days. There is rarely anything I really desire that is Pgem trade material.

Re: What do you do with your pgems?

I used mine to buy what I wanted in the SPTF. Since my restart I think I will be self-found for a little while (i.e. hold onto them).

Re: What do you do with your pgems?

Nothing. Nothing at all. They sit there with zero thoughts for the future. I don't even have that many stashed away... but at this point whenever I do runs/questing I usually don't even bother picking up gems unless I need them to sell for repairs.

IDK... flawless gems seem like a dime a dozen, so if/when I need a bunch I'll start collecting them.

Re: What do you do with your pgems?

Amethysts - Caster amulets
Skulls - Rare diadems, occasionally other high qlvl items like Ward Bows
Others - ilvl 91+ GC's, ilvl 77 Monarch, ilvl 59 sorc orbs
