Weird... new MH-type hack? Or just coincidence?

I was just in a nm baalrun game, leveling up my merc with my lvl82 hybrid bone/auramancer necro, and this other low level necro came in.

After a little while he seemed to know my entire build, the fact that my merc was of a low level (kinda obvious; why else would I be in nm?), and even the fact that my bonespirit dealt 2.5k dmg.

After the run he told me that a little while ago, he helped build a friend's pvp bone/skellymancer necro.

So now I'm wondering... was it just coincidence that he knew my build and dmg of my BS (he did say that he helped build another char like that), or was he using some sort of upgraded MH or inventory-viewer that possibly lets him check the skill points I have invested in my char?

Probably a mh-type inventory viewer, how else would he know you're exact build?

Which is now upgraded to a new MH SKILLS/STATS viewer. Scary, what next? They can just take items off us?

Sure hope not, Blizz needs to come out with like 1.10a, and 1.11, but the thing is no matter how hard they try someone will always come up with a new duper, new PickIt, new maphack, new scams, and I hate the rise of Spam BOTS, I'm squelching so many people in Trade Channels.

The amout of money that can me made from hacks will mean they will always be around.

What money would that be?! Besides Mousepad who started selling his 1.10 maphack for $20 a pop, which promptly got cracked a few weeks later, giving cheaters a 100% discount.

Ever heard of E-bay? I heard somewhere that the method that was used to transfer items from open to closed bnet (eg. white rings/gloves) was sold on ebay for no less than $10,000.

I have no reason to doubt the validity of this, since duping and selling and duping and selling these items on ebay would yield them a lot of money.

i heard that in th US realms there was a lot of hacking. last i remember on europe was the old Ith weapons in 1.09. i got one free from a friend. that was funny.

The money to be made can be huge. If you run a site that hosts downloads of the map hack type they have adverts on etc. Some people sell them on E-Bay. Back in 1.09 they actually figured out a way of transfering items from open B-Net (info from press release by Blizzrd) and the method was sold for $10,000 before they figured out how to shut it down... hence constricting rings etc.

yeah there s definitly a new hack ( even though i dont know the old ones / nor the new ones )

but when i played whit some stranger in a public game yesterday one of them all a sudden asked me "why do you use THIS belt ? it s crap" and i didnt tell him anything about my gear

Nah, that's an old one. That's the item-viewer that comes standard with [almost] any MH. What I'm talking about, is being able to view what skills I have.

Oh, ok I get what you meant by "hacks". I thought you were just referring to things like Maphack, d2loader, hackit, etc.

Yeah, actually screwing with the Battle.net servers for duping, creation of godly items, etc is definately a moneymaker, but not so much in 1.10....

I have yet to see any "hacked" or "ith" items yet, and definately no whites. Oh, and I bet crosslinking open and closed battle.net games aren't as simple as "They'd send a packet from open bnet to connect to a closed bnet game."
