Walmart's Linux PC

So evidently, Walmart's $200 Linux PC is getting great reviews. Aside from the stigma of actually shopping at Walmart  , I could use a new compy. Would Diablo 2 run on it? Anybody know? Thanks!

It's got a ~1.5 ghz processor (d2 requires something like 250 mhz IIRC) and runs linux. I hear that D2 runs very well through wine (emulation program for windows games), so assuming you got that first, I would think it would run pretty well.

you can run d2 on linux (i don't have any details on the comp as theres no walmart here in the netherlands), but @ times it can be a hassle

on my old pc (wich was rather slow) i'd get lag in sp when playing d2 while listning to music....

what you need to do is install d2 with wine,i had to choose the sp install, as i couldn't change cds without crashing the install program, and then i upgraded to full, and to lod, there was this strange thing with cd's too, the cd had to be in it when i started my pc, or it would say it didn't have he cd, even if it was put in at a later stage...

getting atma to work was reasonably easy, but it didn't work quite the was it was supposed to, because of linux. if you use anything else than windows i'd recommend using gomule, as it's way easier getting to work, and is designed to work in linux

hope tht help
ps: maybe you could give some info, what distro does the pc use? (i can only speak of fedora core) another option might be buying the pc, and installing windoze, if you like that.... or a dual bood is possible, if you have a windoze cd lying around

EDIT: pwnt, should make shorter posts :P

ubuntu eh, from what i hear it's great for linux noobs... i myself prolly wouldn't be able to work with it, i'd miss the root access too much... or can you get root access now? it didn't use to have that as fas as i know, wich to me means putting sudo before every command i put in the terminal, wouldn't like that, now would i :P

edit: it uses a rather alternative desktop manager, while KDE or Gnome (most people say KDE is best for people used to windows , i tend to think it's gnome) look a lot like windows in menu style, and folder viewing, this could be very diffrent, something you'll have to learn to use, so to speak...

You can get root access.

I'm currently running Ubuntu and it's not just great for Linux noobs, it's great for people who don't want all the unecessary hassle to squeeze a teeny bit more performance out of their PCs (since all they can do with the performance is check the internet, pretty much).

Diablo 2 runs fine under wine, but you'll have a long road to working it out if you've never used linux before.
