ubers!

imma do ubers for the first time....

i spent a lot of time building my char and i have (so far)...

-un-socketed shako
-perfect ap coh
-40 ias, 396 dmg Greifz
-perfect VEexile
-Dracs
-37 dungos
-gore riders (199%)
-1 raven frost
-angelic ring n ammy

maxed out is - smite, fanta, holy sheild, and defiance (im a smiter btw)

i have 1.5k life, no cta :(

should i do ok? is this an ok build? i dont wanna walk into ubers n get owned like no other....figured id come here for advice....
 
very nice gear
swop the shako out for a vamp
and prebuff fade using last wish
throw the angelic combo away, get mara/metalgrid and a nice ring
and you're good to go

it's ok to run from meph
standing there and tanking him while you're being zapped from all corners is bad
normally what i do is i run to the left, making him follow me
when this happens you only get zapped by a few skeletons, much less painful

same for baal
move away and he'll come charging after you
his mobs will only be a minor annoyance
i usually only see 1 wraith and one of the fireball vampires

diablo.. get used to it
i always get surrounded by those immune to everything winged demons
just smite away, it's ok

you don't have to overstack resistances
0/0/0/0 res after fade after meph conviction is good enough to withstand him, with 1.3k life
but it helps to have more if you're not used to seeing your life do bungee jumps

Drop the Zerker for a Pb, quicker smite and you wont need to run and repair every 2 minutes. Angelics should be swapped out, don't need that ar for smiting, try a highlords and a ring with some life, dwarf star comes to mind since you've already placed your stats. If I were you I'd also swap those gores out for some lower gores and buy yourself a low cta with whatever you have left over. In your case I'd actually say keep the shako, your life is low enough as it is.
 
astral, i routinely do ubers with 1.3k life
1.4k now with my charms
life won't be much of a problem, especially if you have positive resistances after conviction
it seems like % dr also doesn't make much off a diff
with 29k def and max block the other physical minions will hardly scratch you
i missed the part about using a zerk
grief pb is superior

highlords is another judgement call
the ias and deadly strike don't make a difference when ubering because you'll be smiting at max 6 fpa using grief pb

important thing to remember
so long as life tap goes off, you won't die
what i do with meph is kill him, run away and then take down the minions with zeal

and oh.. i just remembered why my resistances are x/0/0/x
i use fortitude instead of chains
mainly because i only have 1 chains >.<
 
1) Swap in a Guillame's for the Shako. You have hardly any CB and it will make a huge difference (socket as needed).
2) Definitely pre-buff with Treachery. It adds 60% to all resists and 15%DR.
3) Swap the Angelics out for any Mara's, and a nice rare ring with resist all/life/etc.
4) Replace Grief Zerker with Grief PB to hit last Smite BP. Any Grief PB will do, so don't waste too much wealth on it.

That should address your CB and resists. Your core gear is excellent and will make the Ubers a cakewalk.

Highlords also has a nice lightning resist boost :wink3: Really there are an infinite amount of smiter builds, I guess they all work :tongue:



 
well im happy to report...

....that my gd greif poofed on me, and nothing left to trade for a new one...

...there goes the neighborhood i guess, heres one for the dupers & hackers that cant jus play the game *cheers*..
 
get a heavens light and you will still be fine you will just do a little less damage but as i c you are good 2 go and they shouldnt be 2 much of a problem

Heavens light is rather cheap as long as ur not looking for a perfect 1

While your loss is unfortunate - are you honestly surprised? I mean 40/396 GriefZ... -.-

Anywho Heaven's and Astereon's are both good. There are plenty of other items as well - check out the nasty long 1pt smiter thread.



 
If you're on USEast, I have a pretty high (382/32; for Zealing with Fanaticism, Grief IAS is irrelavent) Grief PB that I can let you have for cheap.

Rolled it myself, so it'll never poof under the regular passive ruststorm.

Here's my setup so far:

EDeath Zerker Axe - 374 <--- Utterly Expensive
Almost-perfect-res/stat Non-EGlitched Vortex Shield Exile
Sub-par AP Fortitude (all carry the 300% ED mod, so yeah.)
Guillame's Face socketed with a lolomgwtfbbq1337haxxor'd (get the point by now...lol) 15 Res/15 IAS jewel.
LoH (for IAS, and the Ubers ARE demons)
Highlord's (reaches 100% DS with this, and for the IAS)
2x Raven Frost (Need that Dex/AR, without ITD from Grief)
199% ED Self Found Upp'd Gore Riders (Almost no other option...)

Plenty of AR/Life Charms.

IMHO this is one of the best setups for ubering and regular killing (my personal favorite, lol): maximum CB (93), 100% DS (I like to make my last few hits on Ubers zeal; they go faster that way); the only thing that suffers would be Res vs Uber Meph.

I put Salvation on until Life Tap triggers, and switch to Fanaticism when Meph is about 3/4. It doesn't take much to kill him with max CB...

Diablo and Baal are cakewalks. Only thing that bothers me is the mass amount of PI mana drainers; since Smite doesn't leech, I'm actually taking pauses in smiting due to mana. An Azurewrath would remedy this, however.
 
you're 1% short of 4fpa zeal, you know
if you're used to 4fpa using a pb, the extra 1 frame will piss you off no end
when you're smiting, you don't need AR
the dual raven frosts become overkill
and .. you have ZERO % damage reduced

but still, paladins are so overpowered most any build will work

85% crushing blow, lifetap from marrow (no need to wait for it to trigger) and self crafted/cheap stuff hehe Absorb everything except poison option :P 35ias from black scourge and gloves with lvl 25 fan aura for 6fpa smite :tongue:
 
OMG i tested the above in SP vs Ubers and the only thing i had to change was a Crow Caw Tigulated Mail for OW which i had forgotten lol. Go go El Cheapo smiter! Lol Without OW i can smack them to a pinch of life and they regenerate :P All hail the long forgotten Crow Caw armor...:P Blood belts can come up to 10%OW but that may be too little anyone know? To date had not ubered with a pally (choice: seedy pagan necro :P) but gonna take this into Bnet hehe
 
uhhh ok after reading all that jargon idk what weapon i should get tho..

i now have 2 ohm's for trade and idk what i could possibly get for those...weapon wise....maybe yall can type it out this time? instead of jus 2-3 letters...:wink:
 
You could possibly get a low grief with those 2 ohms...

Or the even cheaper route get a heavens light off of someone and that will work just fine
 
You dont appear to have zeal! This is a mistake as smite is not a good solution for killing minions.

Meph has conviction which give -125 to resists.

Here i introduce my El Cheapo smiter set up and this video was done in modded SP with this set up:

Helm: Guil Face with ias jewel
Weapon: Black Tyrant Club
Armor: Crow Caw Tigulated Mail
Sheild : Sanctuary in Sacred Targe (maybe 4 pdiamond in elite pally shield for El Cheapo lower limit)
Boots: +1/low ed Marrowalks
20ias/10cb craft gloves
t gods (nightsmoke?)
highlords (maybe telling of beads?)
low ravenfrost
dwaftstar

Approach Uber and cast lifetap from marrows. Hold down smite to smack ubers individually. Lifetap is hotkeyed and recasted if duration runs out. Having playes necros to death i know the radius by instinct to cast life tap from :tongue: Rinse and repeat hehe Drink a blue if mana low :P I even smacked the wrong Baal initially in this experiment hehe I am thinking an upped nightsmoke might even shine with its 50% damage to mana :scratch:
 
GriefZ is a PvP weapon, Grief PB works just as well for PvM.

If you plan to PvP though, keep that GriefZ for sure. With that and a pair of Bloodfists you'll hit the max Smite BP.
 
But for general killing, AR is a necessity...

And as for the 4fpa attack, I do hit it...

Level 20 Fanaticism and 65% IAS grant me so.

Damage Reduction is my weak point...but when Zealing/Smiting with Life Tap, life is regained so quickly that the DR becomes negligible.

Even with Dual Raven's and the AR charms, my chance to hit in A5 Hell is high 70's to mid 80's...

That's not that great, IMHO...
