TC3 farming?

TC3 farming?

Ok, I'm tired of looking over my pile of items, and seeing all the low lvl gaps.

Can any grailers advise me on where I might run for TC3s? Ive got a few chars I have in mind, but I'm thinking that I might use my holy shock zealot to run around and just zap everything with his aura.

Should I try just hitting Rakinishu and Blood Raven? Or should I goto Outer catherdal and clear back to the blood moor?
 
You really have about 2 choices: Cold Crow, and then Blood Raven (a little too high for TC3)

Bishibosh and Corpsefire are too low, and uniques are serendipitous.

edit: There are a couple of TC3's cold crow can't drop. but I don't remember which they are (except for Tancred's Hobnail)
 
I had a decent map where I could run all the Act1 SU without running around too much. That's how I got most of my TC3's.
 
I twink my new charaters with 2 x Angelic Halo, Angelic Wings, Angelic Mantle, Tarnhelm and Chance Guards if when they become available and quest through Act 1 and Act 2. I found a several TC3s from questing.

Running the normal cow king, he has a good chance to drop TC3s if you can multi play yourself so you don't close the portal. Quest drop bugging normal Andariel for some TC3 may work too.

Running area level clears in Hell and net you TC3 while getting are good items.
 
I completed the TC3 grail by running the normal Cow King. Running the Cow King requires two computers and playing MP, at least the way I did it.

Here was my method:

Use two characters on two computers- enchantress and frenzy barb with decent Find Item.

Enchantress gets the leg, makes the portal, enchants the barb. She stays in town so as not to lose the ability to open the portal.

The barb wields dual Ali Babas and wears lots of MF gear, maybe something with crushing blow and has decent lightning resists. He jumps through the red portal, whacks a few cows not to kill them nescessarily, but just to get FRW up and going so he can race around to find the Cow King fort.

One he finds the fort, he Howls to isolate the Cow King, kills the King, horks the corpse, and then it's time to start another game. Howl is great since that way the Cow King corpse is by itself and you don't waste time horking a bunch of corspes to find the King's corpse.

The normal King is a great source of TC3 items, as well as potentially 2/3 of the Cow King set. It doesn't take a great enchant for the barb to kill NM cows, where you can get the rest of the set if you are also looking for that.

edit: too slow typing!

Another item that is hard to find is Tancred's Boots since it is TC3 but the Act 1 TC3 targets aren't high enough to drop it. But the Cow King can and if you run the normal Cow King, you'll get sick of seeing those green boots.
