Suggestions welcome for a Scarecrow build

OK guys here's something I'm working on here:

*The Scarecrow*

"Mesgoth was an ugly barbarian. He slouched, he stank, he exhibited absolutely no desire nor ambition to do anything greater than tend to the grassy fields, growing vegetables and straw, and sell what he grew to the people of Harragoth for a modest price. Tending to the fields was what Mesgoth did best, each fenced-off field guarded by a great totem he crafted, gathered using the scraps and pieces of dead bodies slain by other, greater warriors. Mesgoth was happy doing what he did, seeing it as a public service to others, and wishing no glory upon himself, preferring to stay in the background. He cared nothing for wealth, wanting nothing more than a simple living within his own means."

"Then the safety of Harragoth was threatened..."

Alright alright I'm no story teller. My challenge to everyone here is to come up with a Scarecrow build, but you are limited to 60 skill points. The philosophy behind this, is an untwinked build which maximizes scaring the crap out of your enemies. That means no "1337" skills allowed such as Whirlwind, Frenzy, Concentrate, Double Swing, Double Throw. 1 point for Beserk is all that's allowed for that particular skill as he needs a way to be able to deal with phys immunes. Points in Bash, Stun, Leap, Leap Attack and 1 point in Beserk are all that's allowed in the way of Combat skills. Everything else is fair game.

Have fun!

A long time ago, I had a philosophy that a combination on these skills could work quite well. I believed it was
15 Pts War Cry
10-20 Pts Leap
20 Pts Battle Orders
Mastery
20 Pts Stun
(1 pt WW... not in this thing though)
Rest Bash, Natural Resists and prereqs.

And I know it ain't 60 points but you could easily reduce alot of things.

The point of this build was to have a lot of speed, run up to a pack of enemies, leap in the middle for KB, War Cry, and then beat the crap out of them with Stun (and maybe some WW's). Rinse and repeat.

Is the dmg for stun viable though? Maxen out leap is scary enough when all the mosnters go flyin, but the stun might juss make you look a lil dumb xP I would say juss use bash and stun/wc only if you can't kill fast enough. WC is also an impresive skills because stun actually seems to work as of .10 just no dmg( i only just started playing about a month ago from a long 2 year vacation from d2 )

when you think scarecrow grimward and howl come to mind :P leap into a group of monsters and scare them all away, I'm sure it would piss alot of players off, but wouldn't it be delightful? they could be the new bonewall necro ^_^

even better, give him a pair of marrowwalks lol

lol like the challenge but here is my version

Skills:
War Cries

1 Find Item, Find Potion
6 Grim Ward (since durration isnt affected with more points only a few are needed hear to give you ample ring of safty.)
10 in Howl

Combat Masteries:

1 Iron Skin
8 Natural Resistances
16 Pole arm mastery or Spear (a farmer I assume would use a scythe, or a pitchfork (trident???)

Combat skills:
1 Bash
1 Leap
15 Leap Attack

I assume since your Scarecrow is a loner that he wouldn't use any leadership skills (ie Group buffs) like Battle Orders etc. Basicaly you'd get your first kill set up the GW for your trolls little safe bridge area and jump out (BOO!!!) and kill those dumb enough not to head the warnings.

Some winking gear selections that apply to the theme:

Carrion Wind- Poison Creeper for your crop. Twister for the natural elements that plague farmers in the Mid-west, Nova for your pesticides.

Bramble Armor- name of course brings to mind a farmer, as again with Poison Creeper.

Heart of the Oak staff (farmers have don't use maces) for the above mentioned Ravens.

Face Mask of Horror- a little more fear never hurts.

Peasent crown- little farmer peasent

Crow Caw- name only

He would have to wear a shako, a dusk shroud/scarab husk armor, and a giant thresher or trident to make him look like a poor farmer. Skills would be Howl, the war cry that does damage, leap attack, mastery, increased speed, find potion/item. Stats: no dex, either all str or all vit

on stats he should be all str, farmers work and toil doing backbreaking labor, he should be able to strike things down with his sycthe

But...without any dex he'll have a devil of a time hitting anything. Remember this does need to be a bit of a viable build also.

If you plan to use Howl or Grimward then you should also use Taunt... I'd go:

20 Grimward
20 Taunt
20 Mastery
1 in Frenzy

You'll be using frenzy most of the time and maybe later you'd max it but for now just use the +160% damage synergy from Taunt and go to town with your mastery as well. Frenzy... I prefer swords since using a two handed as a 1 handed gets you good damage and speed.

Grimward should keep the baddies pinned except for those that you have taunted and they're coming at you at half attack rating and half damage. Get decent defense and you should be good to go.

Edit: O... I forgot... here's an old trick from my necro bag o' tricks. You can save bodies from being wiped by the computer by opening a town portal near them. So after you kill a bunch and one of them drops a TP go ahead and open it and you'll have a fall back position for your grimward if you hit a pack that is too dangerous to make your first body / grimward.

Keep in mind that you can taunt baddies off screen and you should be leading with taunt as you walk through an area. Also keep in mind that Taunt and Grimward are great in pealing away a unique boss from a boss pack.

The major problem would be bosses and boss packs that aren't affected by Grimward. A good merc would come in handy... I'd suggest equip but this is no-twink so best I could suggest is a bunch of Prubies in Armor for the poor guy, or a Nef rune in a bow for a gal.

dex sucks for ar, much better to grab from equip, so that's not a concern. The only things you should worry about putting points in dex for are (1) max block and (2) dex req for equip.
