Stuck Yet Again, Frozen River

Oh my god, all those souls and vipers! Normally, I wouldn't be afraid of them that much, but the map layout this time is just horrendous. Let me describe.

As soon as you enter the frozen river, there is a small staging area with only 1 path to the left. In the platform right next to it, always spawn 2-3 unique groups (viper or souls) That is where my forces all get annihilated, and I can't manuver in the pathway. Attempt to sneak onto the platform is not an option (as the uniques/champions) occupy them. I hate it when vipers or souls are staged across river from the initial staging area. I can't get past the 1 crosswalk, AND I am taking fire from the other side.

Any clever option for this? Or should I just reset map? Solution would be so easy for my old bowzon... just spam MS until red swirl is no longer appears.

Fishmancer? Quite a different challenge.

I keep remaking games in hope of different monster spawn, but it seems like I get souls and vipers every single time. Is the Frozen River hard-coded that those 2 always spawn? If I can get at least soul OR viper, but as of right now along with terrain... 2 is too much.

(man... Diablo took out 3 skeles for the duration of his existance while this area decimate my army in 30 seconds or less... god I miss my ladder bowzon of .09/10... oh well...)

Corpse explosion works wonders on these guys. Please tell me you're using that...

The only problems I ever had was with hell Andy, hell maggot lair/summoner.
Everywhere else just gets destroyed by fishymancers. Spam amp damage and corpse explosion and you really shouldnt have any problems at all. You could do this stuff naked if youre at least mid 80's.

Area marked 3 is the inital staging area.
Area marked 1 is the platform where 2-3 unique/champion soul/viper spawns are
Area marked 2 occasionally spawn vipers/souls that make us at area3 target practice.

It is extremely hard to break into area1 with the choke, marked C with red.

I would love to spam crowd control skill, but that doesn't help that my skeles are mostly dead at chokeC from all those bonespeas/lightnings before able to engage anyone. (not to mention they are unique/champions, they take down skeles for fun)

Confuse, dim vision, attract are all attractive ideas (heh), but I can't cross chokeC without getting pummeled (so I can't see any enemies either)

I wish there are like totem spells or something like that that can lure enemies into my ground in area3 to melee it out... but as it stands, I need to take area1 somehow.

edit as I type this, freaking lucked out! Rotwalker, Viper, and snow drifter... cake walk
I was beginning to despair with the always souls/vipers combo. WHEW!

Dim vision is the skill you want to be using. If you cast it at the edges of the screen, even at fairly low levels, it has a significant range. At a minimum it should shut off the off screen attacks from a chunk of each group. You don't need to be able to see something to curse it. Based on that picture you should be able to rush group 1 and have it completely dim visioned almost immediatly. Try adding mages or a ranged revive to your army as well.

Dim vision is a good idea, tetracycloide. It'll completely shut down the ranged abilities. (Meaning no Bone Spear OR lightning.) It forces them into melee or using ranges attacks when in melee range.
