Str/Dex Requirements (PS)

I'm restarting my Phoenix Strike build (29 right now) and I read the Natalya's Odium build already. There is one thing that I'm not sure about though is stat allocation. The build calls for 55 dexterity due to all of the dexterity bonuses from Natalya's Totem, Raven Frost, and Bartuc's.

I don't really have any char that can do runs in Hell or even Nightmare. This is my main char, and I'm not sure if leaving my Dex at 55 is the best idea considering the limitations I'll have on the equipment I can use.

Getting that out of the way, I have a few questions:

1. Is Natalya's Odium really *THE* equipment that's optimal for a PSer?
2. How much would stat allocation differ if this equipment were not readily available for the built I'm making?

thanks again.

Re: Str/Dex Requirements (PS)

Some can argue that it -is- THE set for a PS.

With the great set bonuses, the item themselves are great (exception being boots. ISO myrmidon :P ).

All in all, it's a very balanced set that gives tremendous boosts to the deadly PS. Since the boots are bad, the DClaw is great due to the enhancements it gets.

I'd say it's a good set to go for ;)

Re: Str/Dex Requirements (PS)

You need 118 Dex to equip Nat's claw, can can get up to +70 Dex from Bartuc's/PRavenfrost/PNat's Helm. So you need another 48 Dex, but realistically that's too low because you need 79 Dex to equip Bartuc's, which you'll equip before you can use the Ravenfrost/Nat's Helm. Personally I got up to a 75 base Dex and am doing fine with that.

This assumes you're planning on using the Natalya's Odium set. If you're not or you don't think you can get it, then you'll have to plan your stat raises based on the gear you can get. In general, because a Phoenix Striker inflicts most of her damage from the elemental damage her charge up skills do, the main attribute you're looking for on equipment is +skills, +MA skills in particular. This means several caster armors work good for you, so you can get away with lower strength & dex.

Overall, for a Phoenix Striker Str & Dex are only raised to the point that you can equip the gear you want to use, since they add very little else to the build.
