starting classic ladder, what kinda sorc?

i was told for a sorc witch i want to mf and get high on ladder, go with orber
max telekenisis/e sheild/orb/mastery, then dump the rest into ice blast.

70stre/51dex/100vit/ rest into energy, that would make for later on when i get the right items i wont have waisted any stats, does this sound right? or shold i try something els for my first character on ladder?
 
a little more info would help but...

They only thing i would reconsider is your strength and dex stat points. Dex looks like your lining up to use a shard (correct assumption?) in which case i would advise against. If your gonna mf your gonna be using a gull optimally (although at the start of they ladder that may be wishful thinking). And since your main attack FO is timed you wont need the fcr from shard (again assuming u orignally planned on using a shard). Also the strength looks pretty high, on my mf orbers i typicall keep it around 55 str and i've some people who would even say that is high. Not sure on the energy shield and energy combo thingy as i typically make vita sorc's but more power to ya and good luck.
 
well i went e shield going to see how it turns out, i put 51 into dex and 50 into stre 100 into vit and rest is going to go itno energy, i'm not going to be done till lvl 79 so i'll let you guys know.
 
for the fcr for teleporting, all depends on what gear you have, and/or intend to use.

20 fcr wand + 20 from magefist + 10 each from rings, and finally an ammy = the 70 fcr for teleporting that most sorcs strive for. said wand also has the ability to spawn with very high resists, mana/energy, etc. last week, before the ladder reset, I urked up a 20 fcr wand, with cr 20, lr 40 fr 40 - pity it didn't have mana/energy, or the resists be swapped around a bit.

others, prefer to use the shard, two rings, and a pair of tri rez gloves, if said gloves also twink str/dex/mana at the expense of a rez then so be it, but the point is there are many ways to skin the cat.

while I haven't ever bothered to get sorcs into the 90s (89 is my highest blizzer ever, and 8x on orbers/fballers) I haven't really found a huge need to use any armor other than twitch combined with a rezzy bone shield/bone helm (or skull cap)

Would you mind sharing your knowledge on orb/fball sorcs? 'Tis my first character on ladder, figured out a lot of stuff my self but not sure on some other stuff. I was gonna put 80 in str for goldskin if I can find it. Atm I have 45 str for magefists, but will probably pump it. What about other gear? I'm going for a meph/andy MFer who can still PvP. Thought it would be kinda different to standard orb/blizz/fball :grin:

Would not pump str for any sorc. Dont increase it anymore. (Its high as it is) U could allways remake...
Gs sucks hard and even harder on pvp sorcs. So u better hope not to find it. Let alone wear it. Besides, its usually more feasible to make both pvp sorc and pvm/mf sorc.

Maybe, u should make this one a memph glitcher -> Akukami's guide is great.
Find some nice items and then make a proper pvp sorc.

I quit my trie element sorc for a more fun, tried in single player, funnest sorc ive ever done

its 70 fcr w/ shard and w/e gear really, my 1st new sccl char, will get her high level (euro)

20 frozen armr
20 shiver armr
20 chilling armr
13 cold mastery (17 after bo and +skills -100 cr)
10 static (12 range after bo)
rest to get ts/lm
tele
warmth

finished at level 82 i think, lm or ts whichever does mo re dmg

players 8 in nm its actually tele to group of enemys and they all die hitting her once, switch toi chilling from ranged attackers, static/ts kills the immunes, barely any mana is needed 2 ;)

250ish chilling armr dmg
360ish shivering amrr dmg, nice +defense, also -100 enemys cr. could probably kill nm ww barbs by tanking.

Maybe i conforted your sorc while running throught act 1 catacombs nm. (account was fredsta something and sorc was superior...) Anyway, did not know it was you until had your left ear in my pocket.
I know was laying in wait for you to came down with your sorc, but u hostiled me not the otherway around ^^.

Anyway, keeping the ear as a trophy :evil:
