stacking identical auras in coop?

I'm sure this question has been answered, but I did search a bit. I know you can stack different auras if you have two pallys (like thorns and fanaticism), but what about two thorns? Like if you had a merc with the same aura? I know two pallys can't stack the same aura.

I've played D2 since it came out, but very seldom on b.net. I started looking over these forums for help, but the abbreviations and such are overwhelming (UM'd?). Is there a thread that deciphers all this?

If the same aura is granted by more than one item, and if those items are worn on the same character, then the levels of the auras will stack.

You cannot stack the same aura from different people, or even from a person who has an aura granted on an item with a few exceptions.
If you have 2 pieces of gear that grant the same aura, such as 2 dream runewords, or the edge and bramble runeword, those auras will stack with each other.
Also, prayer is a little unusual, if you hand a prayer merc an insight polearm, he will get the prayer synergy on the meditiation aura, and thusly have the effect of 2 prayer auras.
