Smiter build.

I want to make a smiter, mainly because I don't usually venture off into the Paladin section of the characters. And I want to have a char that can run Uber trist. :grin:


So, what do I need and where should the stats go for a smiter?

A melee character that's using a shield, especially a high blocking one like Zaka, without max block is just stupid. Enough dex for max block with holy shield active, max holy shield, 1 point in smite instead.

You must get a source of life tap curse(Dracul´s grasp gloves are cheap and good choise), Good % of crushing blow to bring Ubers´life down and open wounds to prevent them healing. Cannot be frozen is also a must have in Uber Tristram, Raven frost ring is good for that. Low one should be few pgems.

Get good resistances, since Uber Mephisto has convicition aura that lowers your resistances by 125%. Salvation aura helps. You should lure him away from Diablo and Baal and kill him first.

I agree with ankeli. Just put one point into smite, maxing it wont raise your damage by that much. Instead max holy shield get max block and the rest into health. And definitely have some life tap.

Wow please don't follow this guys guide. Soj? Are you kidding me.

Shako for uber trist? Come on. Arach is a caster belt why does a smiter need FCR? Skills are useless they don't do anything.

Max salv? You only need 1 or 2 points to overcome mephs conviction you should be at max resists anyway.

No holy shield? Wow this is all useless information.
