It is my first ever hardcore char, so I’m just happy that he got Guardian Status and is still alive.
He began his quest as the lowest level MF char I ever played or heard about. I had started my first HC char, so I had no any experience in hardcore gaming, so I needed good equipment for start. After I found Gull he had ~180%MF! His equipment was the Gull, topazes in armor and helm and some MF jewelry. His top findings in the Cave were: the Gull, 3x Arctic armors, Pelta Lunata, Infernal Cap and other goodies. I finished with level 18 and a lot of stuff to equip.
After that he quickly killed Normal Andy and hire act2 merc. With him he just leveled a bit more in /players8 mode to level 24 and easily killed Duriel. Thanks to my crushing blow Iron Golem!
Act 3 of normal don’t bring me some problems except one Near-Death Experience (NDE). He was cocky and head my army in Durance1-3 when he suddenly came close to some bone fetishes, that was immediately killed by my brave merc! As result – he was almost dead! However he was still alive and I got invaluable hardcore experience for the rest of my life. Mephisto was killed without many problems.
He quickly completed all quests in Act4 too, saved Anya in Act5 and started farming Pindleskin for items for nightmare. He was level 41 when he started and level 51 when he finished. So he was done a lot of Pindle runs! The best findings were: +1 skills magic wand, +1 skills magic amulet, Frostburn (!), String of Ears (!!), unique Fuscina for merc (!!!), and the best finding - Skin of the Vipermagi with 32% res all(!!!). Not bad for normal difficulty. Normal Ancients and Normal Baal wasn’t a problem.
In nightmare difficulty he quickly killed all monsters on the way to Mephisto and started farming him in a nice map with durance2 WP right next to entrance to durance3. He was killing him till level 65 or so with some nice drops like +2 skills head. I passed throw Act4 and killed Diablo with no problems again, saved Anya and started to farm NM Pindle. He killed him enough times to level from level 66 to 72. And Pindle rewarded me like a king with Skullder's Ire!
After that a lot of great battles to remember passed. NM Ancients, NM Baal, the way to The Pit, a hundred pit runs, battles with Hell Andy, Duriel, Mephisto, Diablo and other interesting entertainments like some NDE. I would not describe them here to save time of the readers. Those, who played hardcore in hell, will understand me. It was the true fun!
Today was the day of great battles in Hell Act V. I finally found enemies that was able to destroy my almost immortal army completely include seven Urdar revives and 7k life Iron Golem. Ancients are really tough! As XorceR (IIRC) said, Blizzard must call the Game “Ancientsâ€, not LOD! Even WSK, full of Oblivion Knights and Gloams could not compare with them! I know it now. I don’t want to even mention last Act boss here. He is just a little kid against Ancients.
Good luck all! Don’t die!
P.S. A prize to the one, who knows what is Spikard. It is a name from my favorite book! Don’t use Google for it – it is fair play!
P.P.S. Another good thing was happened to me today. I was published on Strategy Compedium! Look at front page at www.purediablo.com!
