Roflmao!!

Hey all! My first post here on these forums (YAY!)
I just had to post for two things today, one to share what I feel is one of the most hilarious deaths ive encountered (sadly I was the victim) and then ask a little bit of advice.


Well, my level 70 Freezealot (freeze pally) died today in a NM baal run walking to the throne. Those kamakazi enemies, whatever they are called, ice spawns or something, well, a pack of them had a boss one of them. didn't catch his name in time but he was fire enchanted, cold enchanted , and cursed. I tried to run but WHAM!! I had 1000 life >_< Next thing I knew I was taking a dirt nap. Rofl! I just find it hilarious how I got off'ed


Anywho! Now down to my serious question. I want to make a char that people can call on to kill Dclone and give them the charm ( I just like helping people out in this game ) So what is a build that is really good at killing Dclone. I know that any char with the right equipment can take him, so please don't flame me with that. But I mean... what is a tride and true build for just whooping his butt, but may lack in many other areas. All info appreciated :thumbsup:
 
First, RIP to your pally. Nasty way to die, and I've come close due to those kamikazes myself.

Second, the best answer to the question you asked is to perform a search. I've seen that question come through here several times and there are some very thorough answers.

I won't get into much detail, but I can tell you the key is crushing blow and prevent monster heal if you are using a melee character. My conc barb can take him out completely in about 1.5 minutes. I'm sure other builds can get the job done faster - such as a hammerdin or orb sorcie - but my experience is more with melee characters.

Anything hitting fast with Crushing Blow works. It is nice to have Prevent Monster heal on you, but on a Merc will due also.

Dragon Talon Sin (my fav)
Avenger
Hammerdin

Sorcs with Lower resist wands

Java with LR wand maybe.....never heard of one but they are great boss killers with CS.

The Dragon Talon Sin is sickly simple. i havent tried him wothout BO but I am sure it can be done just more pots.

WW Barb cna do it but they usually end up Conc swinging with mass mana loss anyway.
 
First, thank you old man for those words about my pally. Mr_freeze sure was alot of fun to play =)

Now, you're right, I should have done some searching first, so I went ahead and did that and now I have a real good feel for things. Im still trying to decide on a build though because without my old clan im completely poor in this game and I can't afford any godly items.

Question for Stinger : What is a Dragon Talon Sin? This is the first of heard of it , and you seem to be a huge fan of it.
 
hmm, i cant answer the dtalon sin q, because i havent built one (yet, or should i say nevar!)

but i can tell you that the absolute fastest single monster killer is a cs zon. i think 99% of the peeps will agree to that one. the only question is whether you can actually get that high of a lvl cs when you also have to have max res. for the decent legit gear setup this is what i had, and she was doing fine

smoke
titans/tstroke(mainly for bosses)
tgods
loh (for the fire res)
travs i think, but boots vary a lot
cmoon ammy (my personal favorite)
rings dont matter much, but the best pvm i think are dual leech/prismatic

of course you can do much, much better than this, still with legit gear, if you can somehow get ber for coh and griffons (or crown of ages, i heard this is really really good with 2 light facets)

last time i checked someone broke the 70k cs barrier. wonder if 80k is possible.... (my personal high is only 32k, pathetic pls)
 
Dragon Talon is a lvl 1 Kicking skill that with each 5 lvls (I beleive) you get an extra kick like Zeal on a pally. With some Crushing blow you can take out big targets very fast......well take them down to low life very fast, the last bit of life takes a bit as you max Physcial damage isnt all that great and since thier life is low the crushing isnt doing a lot for ya. So having some deadly strike is also a good thing for the build.
 
Well, im my experience, the best clone killer is a hammerdin.

When I first met the clone, I tried every character I had - trapsin, necro, conc barb, etc. No one could dmg him.
I then built a hammerdin who had decent gear by the end ~lvl 75 -
HOZ + Pdiam
GA
Trang glove
FCR pally crafted ammy
Shako (but used +3 combat helm for a long time)
Marrowwalks
Verdungo's
SOJ
Dwarf Star

Less than 1 minute and the clone was dust.
 
Remember, he said he was pretty poor and no offense, but I have a pretty good idea how rich the most of the posters here are....

I'd say a "cheap" build would either be a hammerdin or a conc/crushing blow barb. Things like peasant crown, viper, guillame's, goblin toe, can make these viable dclone killers, not the fastest, but easy to get max resists.

Very true of the Dragon Talon, but unlike zeal, it gives all kicks to a single target. It can be very vicious at higher levels with a pair of Gore Rider Myrmidon Greaves.

Also, Deadly Strike is a mod that does not work with kicks.

Mods that do work with kicks:

- Open Wounds
- Crushing Blow
- Elemtal Damage
- Magic Damage
- +X% Enhanced Damage from non-weapon gear
- +X% Life Leech
- +X% Mana Leech (Except with dual claws from off weapon)
- +X% Chance to cast xxx on striking
 
IMO the DT Sin as well as the Hammerdin are probably the least expensive to attain the gear needed.

DT sin just really need some crushing and AR
Goblin Toes upped once will do the trick as that is what mine uses
Any % Bartucs for AR boost
3-4 sock armor with some thul, orts and rals, or a Smoke armor and you should get rez easy with high Fade.

Hammderdin can use a 4 sock Pally shield with resis and all diamonds and cover his rez.
Shard 50% FCR
Stealth
1 FCr ring and he hits 75 FCR
Slap on a PSaph Helm and he has tons of mana.
Rest of his gear can be life based.

Both need some PMH somewhere like on a Merc.

It really doesnt take godly to smoke DC it just takes certain things and it is all pretty easy to get.

Dont forget your favorite normal unique purple armor of distruction RATTLECAGE as it has CB also.

Normal Unique Hatchet forget name
...etc

You could literally list like 300 max damage and take DC down to 1/8 life very quickly with good crushing on a DT Sin.

Angelics can help supply AR, hell diamonds in gear can.......there are jsut soo many ways to get this done.

Yup. With a little bit of gear (some BoS and a claw) you'll get a 7-2-2-2-2 kick attack, the fastest attack cycle in the game. Don't wanna end up between the legs of this lill lady for sure.
 
Very gear dependent but ultimate clone killer in my mind

--> Fanatic Zealot

With stormlash/schaffer's at a 4 fps with laying of hands and prevent monster heal, the static and fast damage will take him down in a minute or so in a one player game.
