Rainbow Facet Unique Jewels

I found one yesterday and hadn't seen one before (cough "n00b" cough). Does anybody use these things or are they just gathering dust in ATMAs all over the world?

i socketed one lightning facet in a lidless for my lf-zon, and a poison facet in a perfect vipermagi for my poisonmancer.

They don't make a big difference but I use them when I find them. Got a Fire Facett in my druids ravenlore, for example. IIRC the +3-5% damage is added on the same level as a mastery so chars without masteries benefit more from them.

erm, this wasn't just an "OMG i found a rainbow facet!!!!111" post. There was a valid question in there too...

They're very useful if you're looking to optimize your character. In general +dmg is better on cold and -res is better on the others.

I disagree. He had a question relating to a specific item and its usefulness. The fact that he just happened to find one is irrelevant.

Mine is a lightning themed one, with the Cast effect occuring on death. Seems a tad useless to a Conc Barb. I'm tempted to use it on a HC LF 'Zon. At least she'd go out in a blaze of glory...

I use 2 fire die in my 3+ fire 96 life circlet. So its +7 % dmg/-7% monster resist fire aswell. looks kind of sweet.

Well, back when I played on "Players 8" ALL the time I liked to use perfect ones in my end game equipment just because every little bit helps for killing. But, I've been playing "Players 1 or 3" the past 6 months and things die pretty fast, so I tend to go for MF socket fillers over perfect facets.

Do you really get three meteors? Or just one with 300% chance (which would be pointless...)

The lower the "merc-lvl", the faster the "fire-works". Keep a "level-up" unique
jeweled hat in your pack, for those "experience" moments.

sorry, you don't get three meteors. you get 300% chance to cast one meteor. even if the 3 facets are each in different items.
