Question About Ginther's and LPWB

This one should be an easy one for you guys:

Here is my question. Does Gither’s Rift need IAS to reach the Lowest Possible Whirlwind Breakpoint (lpwb)? The speed of a Dimensional Blade is [0] and the Increased Attack Speed on Ginther’s is %30. I would thereby guess that to total speed of the sword would be -30 and with the 1H lpwb at -34, Gither’s would require either an IAS Jewel or Shael to reach lpwb. Yes? I thought so... Now this is the interesting part, and the reason for my post. If Ginther’s is upped, it becomes a Phase Blade. That would not raise the Max damage, but it would raise the only the Min damage, up the requirements significantly, but most interestingly the base weapon speed of a Phase Blade is -30. Does this mean that Ginther’s, after being upped would no longer need a Shael or IAS Jewel? Because it would then me -60 weapons speed?

Lightsabre and Azurewrath are still both better than an ethereal upped ginther's anyway though....

I have to make due with what I have, as crappy as it is. I'm hardcore, so trading is much more difficult as there are less players and throwing out a rune rarely results in an item, on sofctore with a rune, you can buy everything, but on hardcore the item is much more valued than the runes. For example Shako in SC you can get for a Pul, or an Um will get one for sure, but on HC it doesn't work that way. No one seems to want to make that trade. Anyway, my Ginther's has reached the end of it's usefulness (Hell difficulty.) It's ethereal and only %3 off a perfect, so i'ts giving me 147 damage, and upping it would allow me to add somehting besides Shael. And trying to trade Pul for a Hell difficulty sword doesn't seem to fly on HC. I got three mules full of chipped, so i was going to try rolling a sword with 3 chipped gems recipe. I got some questions though.

1-Why does everyone reroll a CCB? Is there a reason why soomeone going 1H wouldn't use say a Mythical Sword or somehting (lower requirements on a Cryptic Sword.)?

2- Once I aquire the sword, and use the three chips, can i just keep re-rolling the sword? or do i need a new one?

3- This is a different question, but if I use the 3 PGemms on a charm do I need a different charm each time also?? Will the item level be two low after it's re-rolled, to re-roll again?

1- not sure, but might have something to do with the qlvl of CB allowing it to spawn cruel at any ilvl

2. can't confirm this, but I'm pretty sure you can

3. You can reroll it till d3 comes out =D I mean, yes, it can be rolled infinitely. The ilvl doesn't change with the 3 pgems recipe.

I have an ethereal upped indestructable Ginthers Rift Phase Blade, somewhere on non ladder, and yes, you could socket it with a 40%ED/15Max Jewel for better damage, instead of a shael.
Yes, you will get -30 base weapon speed as its now a phase blade.

Ok, you might be on to something with the item level of a Colossal Blade, but I noticed the Mythical Sword also has an ilv of 85... but the requirements are practically as steep as the CB. The Cryptic has easier reqs, but only has an ilv of 81, Can it cube "Cruel?" Hmmm. Here's another one.

- The Prefix "Cruel" has an affix level of 51, so does the character need to be level 51+ to cube it? Or can a person cube it right on the mule? It would be much easier to be able to use a mule.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the three chips to get random magic mod on a sword with 3 sockets get nerfed from 1.09 --> 1.10. Or are you playing a previous version?

It was. Currently that recipe creates an ilvl 25 sword with 1-2 sockets. So Cruel should no longer be possible unless the base item has a high enough qlvl. Someone with more knowledge will be able to tell you which swords that would work

@zag: affix level is determined from a formula containing both ilvl and qlvl. If I'm not mistaken, it means that any mule can do it.

Udgard: This is correct. Make sure I am looking at this table right. http://diablo3.ingame.de/spiel/expa...sus+Blade&sortby=group&mlvl=0&qlvl=85&ilvl=25 That link is shown on an affix table for a Colossus Blade at an item level of 25. and it's for 1.11. Now clearly it says that the Prefix "Cruel" is available on that sword. As is the suffix "of Quickness." Yes this formula did get nerffed, but only in that it doesn't generate a 3 sockted sword, and to reach the LWBP you need two shaels with a sword that does not have an IAS suffix. Meaning getting that primo sword is much harder, but still possible? let me know what you think, i might be wishing. Someone get me the sword so i can try it... LOL...And thanks for all your help btw.

I can't open the calc from this computer (connection not good enough to load it), but if the affix appears on the list for an ilvl 25 colossus blade, then I'm pretty sure that it can spawn with the 3 chip recipe =)
