PvP Windy - Why max Block??

PvP Windy - Why max Block??

I have been told many times to use SS/Max Block for pvp with a wind druid.
My question is, what builds can actually be blocked? Why max block?

*I put in bold the most common/deadly builds.
First -- those that can be blocked:
Barbs (Any)
Amazon (Bow only)
Pally (Zealer, Charge) - I have never died to a zealer! Not worried.
Assassins (WW) - I have never died to a WWsin! Not worried.
Druids (Melee Druids) - I have never died to a Melee Dru! Not worried.
****Forgive me for saying that in a Druid forum.****

Second -- those that can not:
Amazon (Javs-CS)
Assassins (Trappers)
Necros (Bone, Poison) Summons are uncommon.
Sorceress (Fire, Cold, Lightning)
Druid (Wind, Fire)
Paladins (SMITERS, Auradins, Hammers, FoH)

Here is my thought, I like the idea of damage reduce but dont know how usefull block really is considering who can/can't be blocked. My wind druid could use SS, 99fhr/99fcr, Max vita, 43%DR, and good res. Don't you think that would work better against ALL builds?

You should be worried about wwsins and good chargers(death in a Single charge hit is likely). Good ones WILL destroy you without block. The best wwsins will destroy you either way, but good chargers shouldn't be able to win against you if you max block.

Zons and barbs are EVERYWHERE. Do you Really want to die to random zon spam? The 1k life you might gain from not having block does not, in practice, help much against casters.

Bottomline: you've already convinced yourself that maxing block won't help you. You will make the non-block windy and probably hate it. Then you will rebuild. Enjoy :smiley:

Barbs/zons will lov you if you don't have max block, and if you've never died to a ww sin without max block then you haven't dueled any decent ones yet. Same goes for shifters, block is usually the only thing between you and a 15k+ Fury etc, your char your choice tho.

I REALLY appreciate you debating what I had to say. I wanted that. I will max block, you guys convinced me.

The whole point of asking is because I REALLY don't want to rebuild. :smiley:

P.S. I have met a lot of 163%fcr Vita windies lately in game, it makes me question my build, again, I dont wanna rebuild!! I think I will do well with block.

You can still have a caster setup in stash for when there isn't anything to block. Just play better than the guys with 1k more life than you(not that much difference in reality) and you'll be fine, AND you won't get pwnt by random barbs/zons.
