Problems with installing D2 Expansion pack

I have full instalatio of D2 and a v1.10 patch.When i trz to install the expansion,it stops at the part D@XMUSIC or D@XTALK MPQ file and puts a mesage Insert D2 Expansion pack cd but the cd is in the cd-rom.And i tryed to install the LOD without any paches to the D2 and again it rejects me.
Please help me !!!Anyone!!!:cry::sad2:

Well, I went through the blizz support section for Diablo 2. Couldn't find anything on this error, which I didn't think I would. My personal opinion, if you havn't already tried this, is to uninstall the original Diablo 2, and reinstall it. Try to install LOD again. My thought is that the CD itself is missing those 2 files. In that case, try rebuying Diablo 2 LOD and the new CD should fix that problem.

the cd could be scratched, try cleaning it then manually copying the files and see if windows gives any read errors

I would say to uninstall d2/lod and install d2 then lod then the 1.10 patch works everytime for me when i play mods.

??????? No. If the cd is missing essential files, and you can verify this, then you tell blizzard you want a new, working cd.

I think i have found the problem.When i tryed to copy the LOD cd and the file D2XTALK.MPQ has a some kind of error.The D2xmusic file is ok but the takl file could not be copied because of the error.Then how to solve this???

In theory that works, but who the hell wants to deal with blizz, when you can just go get a new CD? I mean if you don't got the money thats cool, but I would rather spend an easy 20 or 30$ on a new CD then deal with blizz's technical support staff...

And to answer your question, you should just go buy a new CD man, it will solve all your problems.

PhyscoTimmay: I have more patience than money, so I would get a free replacement for a cd that does not function. There's also the principle of the thing. I won't buy something twice because the first one was poorly made and didn't work. If blizzard refused to replace the nonworking cd, then I would not buy anything from blizzard again.

What I described is a failure of "materials or workmanship." That's a legal term people. Blizzard must replace it without cost.

If it has been less than 90 days since you have purchased the game and you include a copy of the sales receipt showing the purchase date within 90 days, the $10 fee for that game will be waived.

If you think the CD is screwed anyways, you can try a scratch removing agent or those CD cleaners. My brother used Scratch X on his disk and it worked. (he had one to start with to remove marks on his car)
