"perfect" uber smiter gear

So this is the gear set that I'm aiming for here:

Corwn of ages 2x ber
maras
fortitude
last wish PB
eth exile vortex
Laying of Hands
Tgods or Dungos
not sure on the boots since ill have insane CB from the Last wish.

Enhanced damage vs demons doesn't work with smite, so drop LoH for a nice pair of blood gloves.

I personally prefer grief builds since they are cheaper and kill faster p) but there's no doubt that the above will make short work of the ubers.

tgods if you don't have points in resist lightning, verdungo's if you do. Just depends on your preference really

Since we're talking "perfect" I'm assuming 15% verdungo and 15% CoA, in which case you only need 1 ber to get you to 49% DR. Cap is 50% so the second ber is a waste. Put a nice jewel instead. Good mods are reduced requirements (CoA is likely your highest strength requirement item), damage taken goes to mana (drinking blue potions is a pain), resists (obviously), life, or IAS if your blood gloves don't have IAS (but this is a "perfect" set so your blood gloves should have IAS).

Also gores are the right boot choice, you may have a lot of CB, but you aren't at the cap, and more is better since there isn't really anything else that is amazing that can be put in that slot. I guess you could do waterwalk, but unless you were actually at the crushing cap I think gores are still the better choice.

I know that with convic/hell penalty ill be at 15 resist all without charms (-225 total), although i plan on having 30 additional @res with charms. From there the absorb and additional res from the wisp/tgods should take care of any 1-shot lightning problems am i correct?

@rectangle: How much would a pair of nice 20IAS blood gloves cost me in runes and what other mods would i be looking for?

Just more res or +str and such so i can dump more into vitality?

You want your resists maxed. Everything else is secondary to that pretty much. Personally I'd give up pcombats to make up the difference, they don't really do that much for smite damage anyway. Tri-res rare boots and an ums or resists jewels in the CoA are options too, but you definitely want to be at maxed resists under conviction. It isn't too hard to do thanks to the fade proc on last wish.

so obviously you want 10% crushing and 20% IAS, and yes up to 15 strength is the other mod. Prices can vary wildly but expect to pay multiple HRs for a good pair.

Yeah it seems that you never built a uber smiter before have you? Its ok everybody on this forum is here to help you give advice on builds and what you are doing wrong. I see many changes that need to be done for your build. Sorry I'm not trying to hurt your feelings or anything but let me help you on some gear suggestions.

coa? You do not need dr in ubers so use either guillis or kiras. I see that you want to use lw pb so go for kiras imo.

ev exile? I do not know why anybody makes them out of vortex anyways other than the defense which is not necessary. St has best block and lower str req and has the same average damage. But in this case go upped hoz since you want to use lw pb. If you choose not to use lw pb then go ebugged exile st 45 all resist.

loh? Nice for ias but either dracs or ias cb gloves would be better.

tgods or dungo? No I would not use either of them I would use crafted blood belt or rare belt str/life. They would benefit much more.

fort? Its a nice choice but I would rather use coh or enig instead.

tri resist boots? No go gores and always gores.

Everything else looks good though.

First big problem is CoA... its completely pointless. All, and i repeat ALL, the damage threats in Uber Trist are elemental damage. Damage reduction is completely unecessary. CoA is probably only useful for Lilith, but in actual Uber Trist Guillaumes is so much better. I would even use Kiras over CoA to ensure max resists, and it also frees up a ring spot for something other than Raven.

Since you have an exile... go grief. There's no comparison. Last Wish's main advantage is safety with the lifetap and fade procs, but with exile the lifetap is just not an issue. Last wish and exile is just overkill and you are sacrificing damage, if you want to keep the last wish just get a decent resists shield (like a 110 res sanctuary) and forget about exile. But I would definitely ditch the last wish and go Grief, it kills faster, and you won't need any more IAS on your equipment.If anything use the LW just to prebuff fade.

As people have said, ditch LoH. The damage to demons doesn't do anything. Get some good res gloves or some crafted blood gloves.

Use Tgods. The only real threat to a rich player in UT is meph, and with max light res and tgods you will be essentially immune.

Use fortitude, it kills fastest. A CoH is good if you cant get max resists (really just max light resist, the others dont matter so much). Do not use enigma, ive seen people suggesting it but its completely pointless. You have enough strength and teleport/MF are worthless.

If you use Last wish, use the tri res boots. But I think Grief + Gores is a far better combo.

Finally... NO PCOMBS! Completely pointless, the damage increase is negligible. Get some res charms to fill up your inventory and get max res under conviction. I also wouldnt carry a torch but thats just me.

I'd agree that this is pretty much the ideal setup. As I said before I don't really like last wish builds.

That said, swapping amulets is something I don't like to bother with. Mara works just fine all around, venom lords and diablo really aren't a threat if you can deal with meph anyway - and highlords won't change your smite breakpoint with grief, nor does deadly strike work with smite, so it doesn't have much going for it over mara.

Highlords has 5 more light res then you can get with the best maras.

And switching amulet is not necessary, but i do it just in case there is massive lag or something i know I will be safe. Obviously maras is a good choice too, but I would use metalgrid over it as +skills arent necessary and metalgrid has higher res.

The +2 skills is a substantial help for BO though (again if you're like me and too lazy to do more than weapon-switch for casting BO).

Helm__________Iratha’s Crown (socketed with Ort): 60% LR, 30% FR
2nd helm______Plain white crown, socketed with 3 perfect rubies
Ammy__________Rare +1 Paly skills, +1 ENG, +39 Life, +19 All Resists
Weap__________Magic Bone Wand of Life Tap (105 lvl 6 charges), socketed with 2 Shaels
Armor_________Darkglow ring mail (socketed with Ort): +10 all resists, another 30% LR, +5 to Max all resists
2nd armor_____Treachery (Shael-Thul-Lem) breast plate
Shield________White crown shield with +43 all resists, socketed with 4 Pdiamonds, for a total of +119 to all resists
Gloves________Crafted (blood) heavy gloves with 8% crushing blow and +18 life
Ring 1________Raven Frost

Yep. The poorman beats all. I did something similar but not nearly as extreme, i did use Dracs.
