The Story
Have you ever been in a forest so beautiful you only thought it could exist in your mind? In land far away from here there forest of Nhelaiydhia lies. In the forest there were once two tribes, the barbarians and the druids. The druids lived in the northen part of the forest and the barbarians lived in the southern part. In the middle of the forest there was a spring with the purest of water. The two tribes fought for the spring since they thought they were the tribe to deserve it.

This story is however not about the fight between the two tribes. Our story begins with Styrkaar, a barbarian. Styrkaar lived with his family in the barbarian village Medina along with his family. Every day he was trained by the villages battle master in diffrent arts of battle. As a barbarian he had many expectations on him. To embrace battle and never fear it. One day when he was out in the forest hunting deer something happend that would change the history of Medina. He had just tracked down a big deer and aimed a shot at it. But before the arrow hit the animal a hand reached out from nowhere and grabbet it. The deear ran away and was soon to far away to be tracked down again. Styrkaar looked around but he couldn't se anyone. He turned araound to go back to the village but before him there was a man. He didn't look like the peple of his village. He glanced at the man from head to toe but stoped in the middle where the man held his hand. In the hand he saw...the arrow.

Before the man could blink Styrkaar had drawn his sword. The other man didn't move and being unarmed didn't seem to bother him at all. Then Styrkaar swinged the sword and attacked. But the man did dodge the attack and threw some powder at Styrkaar. Styrkaar aimed a new attack but the powder seemed to affect him. He started to see blurry and soon everything turned black. From the dark monsters appeared. He swinged the sword at them but when he hit they disappeared. Dizzyness struck Styrkaar and he fell.

When he opened his eyes he saw the man in front of him. The man didn't see him. Styrkaar tried to move but found himself tied to a tree. THen man tunred around.
- So you are awake now? he said.
- Who are you? Styrkaar answered.
- I'm Indaeros and you are Styrkaar I belive?
- You know me?
Styrkaars eyes were still affected by the powder so he weren't abel to see properly.
- No I don't know you but I was told to find you, Indaeros said.
- Why?
- We have a mission.
- Who told you to find me? What is this mission?
- I was assigned this task by the spirit of this land.
- Ok. I'm have no idea what you are talking about but if you can talk to spirits you are a...
- ...a druid, yes I am.
- What was that thing you threw at me?
- It was Psilocybe Semilanceata a psychedelic mushroom. I had to put you under it's effect to calm your body.
- You druged me? Release me!
- I can't yet. First you must understand.
- Understand what?
- I come from the village Menae that lies in the northen part of this forest. Yes I'm one the druids yor people have fought for centuries. But I come in peace young barbarian.
- So what's the mission then?
- The spirit told me to find you and together we shall bring peace to this land.
- I'm listening.
- A new power have raised at the top of the world.
- A power? What kind of power?
- An evil power that threaten to destroy this world for all eternity.
- Why us?
- I don't know but the spirit have choosed us for a reason. That's enough for me.
- What does your people say about this?
- They don't know. The spirit visited me at night and told me to sneak out. My pople is probably looking for me now but they won't go this close to your village.
- What are we supposed to do? I'm just a simple swordmaster and you? You are a shaman.
- No I'm not. My knowledge of the nature has nothing to do with my power.
- Then what are you?
- I'm a Shapeshifter, a druid adepted at changing the form into a wolf. As a wolf I have several other attacks.
- Why me then? I'm just a simple barbarian.
- No you're not. As I said before the spirit choosed us for a reason. I know neither of any of the reasons.
- Okey I understand. So were shall we head?
- We are going to Harrogath.
- Harrogath isn't the town of the...
- ... barbarians of worldstones village, yes it is. I don't know anything more than we have to move quickly. The fate of the world lies in our hands now.

Indaeros and Styrkaar traveled to Harrogath. When they arrived the locals make sure they weren't welcome and shut them out. While being in the town it was attacked by monters, things niether Indaeros or Styrkaar had ever seeen. A few soldiers were captures by the enemy and was brought torwards Arreat Summit.

Styrkaar and Indaeros managed to talk to the the locals and offering the help. In a hard battle they both managed to bring the soldiers back. From that moment they were treated as herose by the locals. Indaeros asked about the evil and the mission he had been given by the spirit. The other barbarians seemed very shocked to see a barbarian and a druid from the forest Nhelaiydhia in company with each other. They had heard about the battles between the tribes. Tey also told Styrkaar and Indaeros that the evil raiseing was no less than the evil himself, Baal, the lord of destructiuon.

Styrkaar and Indaeros stayed in the town for a while and did soem missions for the locals. A girl named Anya had been captured by a sorcerer, Nihlatak. They managed to save her but later they found out that he was co-operated with Baal. But there was no time to waste on him. New reports from the outposts said Baal had reached the chamber of the Worldstone were his goal was.

Indaeros and Styrkaar left the town of Harrogath. They started the journey to the summit were the entrance was. Every day was a battle of survival. Styrkaar and Indaeros slayed enemy after enemy. When they finally reached the summit the were approached by three spirits. THey were protectors of the Worldstone and to enter the chamber Styrkaar and Indaeros had to fight them. By now both Styrkaar and Indaeros were at no mercy and they won very fast over the spirits which transformed into gold. Before entering the chamber Indaeros gave Styrkaar a magic helmet.
- It's a gift from the spirit of our land. It has the powers of the shapeshifter. Here try it out.

Styrkaar put the helm on his head. He suddenly heard a repating voice. First he couldn't hear what the voice said but as the time went by they became more clearer. After a few minutes he heard the word clear.
- Wolfhaooool, Wolfhaooool.
He took the helm off and stared at Indaeros.
- Is this the legendary helm of WolfHowl the barbarian who managed to transform into a wolf and using it's powers?
- I'm not quite sure but I think it is.
Styrkaar put the helm back on ihs head again and this time he felt strange. In a poff he had transformed into a wolf. Styrkaar in wolfform and Indaeros in wolfform entered the Worlstone chamber were Baal was. A battle brought out. During the fight the worldstonechamber began to fall in. Styrkaar and Indaeros fought with everything they had. Later they managed to push Baal into a corner and win the fight. Baal was slayed by the hands of a druid and a barbarian.

After the battle both Styrkaar and Indaeros traveled home to their own land. They were reunited with their families. In Medina Styrkaar told them about his new friend Indaeros. First the village seemed not to understand how he could have fought side by side with the enemy but son they realized that the thing Styrkaar and Indaeros had performed was one of the greatest they've ever heard.

In the village of Menae Indaeros the other druids treated him as a king. He told them about Styrkaar and no one seemed to bother.

One day were both villages on their way to the fountain in the middle of Nhelaiydhia. The druids along with Indaeros arrived first and began to fill their puches. Shortly after the barbarians along with Styrkaar arrived. Both of the tribes once drawn their weapons and started scream to each other. Then the master in the barbarian tribe sent Styrkaar into the middle. The druids sent Indaeros cause he was their most proudest warrior.

Now Indaeros and Styrkaar stood in the middle, surrounded by their tribes. They walked to each other and looked at the other.
- So this is it? Indaros asked
- What is what?
- The end
- No, why?
- Look around you. You know why they have sent us here.
- I don't wanna fight
- Me neither.

Styrkaar drew his sword. Indaeros tunred into a wolf. Styrkaar layed his sword beneath Indaeros feeth and bowed so his neck was showed in front of the wolfs teeth. Indaeros bowed forward and changed back into wolf. Both of them bowed to each other.

The villages of the two tribes started yelling again. But then they silenced. Both Styrkaar and Indaeros and stood up and looked around.
- Is this what you have become they screamed to their tribes. Are you monsters? We shall unite as one tribe instead of fighting each other as two. We have so much to learn from each other. We won't fight each other.
- If you force me to this I'll leave Medina Styrkaar said.
- And I'll leave Menae, for good.
- We have choosed to control our destiny, will you do the same?!, they shouted.

The villagse of the two tribes stayed quiet then both of their chieftans walked into the middle. Both of them looked at each other with hate. A silence spread among the two trbies. Minutes went by. Then the chief of Menae held out his hand. The chief of Medina did the same. Finally peace was not out of reach anymore.

Later that night Indaeros finally understood what the spirit meant by saving the land and bring it into peace.

The End

Re: Patriarch Styrkaar and Indaeros

Congrats on the pats.

Just a quick question there: with my latest druid, I felt that even though a fast one target attack killed quickly enough, it just simply did not have much crowd control. How was the killing speed when you end up against really large packs ie 2 or 3 unique packs

Re: Patriarch Styrkaar and Indaeros

Gi Xdeathfire - Thx.

To have crowd control Baltha had a delirium on his mercenary. After a while I made me one too on a Tiara and placed it on my merc. They were very good. We only had real difficulties with the OK's.

I never used delirium before but it was better than I expected.

Re: Patriarch Styrkaar and Indaeros

Thanks, XDeath.

Yeah, I was worried about our crowd control lacking, but both Delirium helms made quite a good work, even in the WSK. My Gloom AP helped a bit here too, particularly versus archers and gloams.

Re: Patriarch Styrkaar and Indaeros

Nice characters, I especially like the Wolfbarb. One of those builds I've wanted to do, but havent found the time yet. I dont like the thought of having to slowly make my way to level 79 with no attacks beyond, well, a normal attack. I suppose MP helps alot with that?

And I'll 3rd that Delirium is awesome. Any of my characters that I find lacking in crowd control will put one on their mercs. It solves a lot of problems for many characters and is fairly cheap too. It's probably my fourth most used runeword after Insight, Spirit and Fortitude.

Re: Patriarch Styrkaar and Indaeros

congrats on your pats!
a wolfbarb is easy to lvl in 1.12 if you have some basic twinking gear.bloodletter for +WW skill and a passion sword for zeal and berserk. passion is best used in off hand with a nice damaging weapon to in main hand. mine used passion and an oath BB for easy leveling.
once you got to hell just rush to the pits and make some p8 pit runs.
for those that lack crowd control with shapeshifters i remember them that one point in grizzly is a good investment. for ok just cast your grizzly near them and they will run or cast decreptify on nearest target ( grizzly in this case). best use is to cast the animal on their back. doing so they will run in your feral fury charged claws.
i never used delirium on melee physical damage chars as confuse disrupts my atma scarab or merc reaper usefull curses.
