Passion Runeword

I was wondering what type of character would use the Passion runeword and in what type of weapon.

Melee characters, wanting the Zeal or Bezerk I should think. Enchant Sorc's use it's Zeal.
Barbarians wishing to save a point may use it for the bezerk so they don't have to invest a point in bezerk themselves.

Passion for a melee sorc is a horrible thing. The zeal is really slow, and % chance to make monster flee is just disgusting. I'll take a kingslayer cryptic sword over a passion phase for my melee sorc any day.

Was thinking about that for my necro. That wolverine would increase the damage of the skellies by 34%. On the other hand a +3 summon skill wand would be better? Anyway, I still have no LEM to try it.

btw 1st post

Oblivion Knights for melee characters are teh suxxors. But Berzerk trumps OK and makes you teh roxxors. Mkay?

i was gonna use on my zealot in beserker axe (too poor for BOTD) until i found stonecrusher and didnt want to spend runes. Tho its pretty cheap for how good it is

rickcarson - I was only discussing how horrible passion is for a melee sorc. Melee sorcs do almost zero physical damage. I've used passion on my melee sorc, and the berserk is useless, because its only the almost non-existent physical damage aspect that is being transferred into magic damage. Berserk for a melee sorc is essentially pointless, and so is the zeal. Mkay?

Passion was designed for Tankazons. Kingslayer is best suited to meleesorcs because of the benefits from masteries. Every single mod on Passion benefits a Tankazon no end. Zeal is an essential crowd control melee skill and berserk's 0% def means absolutely nothing to a tankazon with her high D/A/E skills. % to damage and AR to undead is a bonus for any melee char.

Despite what people tend to think, hit causes to flee is an essential mod when you are totally surrounded and with the right setup those monsters that run away will quietly die while you deal with their friends. Another simple counter that the mentally challenged players out there don't seem to recognise is that you have a weapon switch and it is a very simple matter to zeal a monster until it runs then throw a few Lacerators or Gimmershreds at them. Repeatedly hitting the same monster and repeatedly causing it to flee just makes life harder as Howl stacks and makes the monster run both faster and further.

My only complaint about Passion is that the lvl 3 Heart of Wolverine only lasts about 1 minute in hell and its recharge cost is rather expensive...probably why you have % to find extra gold.

I use a Cryptic Sword but even better than that would be a Scourge (even more damage to undead).

So if you want to make full use of this weapon make a Tankazon. If you wanna waste its potential put it on a barb or paladin. Other classes may get limited benefits from berserk but only barbs and zons are able to use it properly.

I have started my Palazon guide (finally) but have put it on hold (again) until the end of this season. This build uses both of Passion's oskills depending on the adversary.

The best use I've found for PASSION is on my melee necro. The bonus to AR and zeal totally rock, as well as all the other good mods (of course the rest of your equipment must be great too) that I don't remember (it's been a long time since playing but I'll start again new ladder season). Also, I used an ethereal Legendary Mallet for the max 1 hand damage!!

does that berserk convert melee sorc's fire damage to magic damage??

I got a 4s 15%ed diamond bow, I will try to "passion " it. I know the zeal won't work on ranged weapons, but consider the runes are so cheap I 'll just make one only for fun (blind & flee).
