OT: Avatars

Ahoy,

There is something I'm curious about that I don't think has been well discussed: where does your avatar come from?

Mine comes from the old cartoon Bravestar. Bravestar was the 23rd century Sheriff, or something, and had a bionic talking horse, who's name was Thirty-Thirty.

The only others I've remember recognizing are Nightfish, whose avatar is the image of the character Locke from FF6, which was a SuperNintendo release (I think it was FF3 in the US), and Tarr. That's a Serra Angel from Magic: The Gathering, right? And I think I saw a Clockwork Avian around...

So where does your avatar come from?

i think that's a great great picture Rizzo!
it radiates happiness, makes me smile everytime i see it, denotes a great relationship, its just so sweet!
(im kind of a family guy, maybe that's why i get so sentimental when i see happy couples)

i did my avatar myself, from picture of a hooded girl

Thanks Phatbrava. It was taken with my phone when we lay in bed. And it surely is a great relationship. Thanks again mate. :)
 
Mine's my kitty, Diamond. At another (non-D2) place I have the stained glass window I did of her (also my first SG effort) shes' just too cute...

Althouh if the 'tars were bigger, I'd have this one which is the hubble view of the radiation around a star... RL imitating art freaky and if we could have images in our sigs it'd be this

and I agree that rizzo's 'tar is too sweet :innocent:
 
My avatar is a picture of a cattleya orchid that I drew. I can’t say that there is much of a story behind it. :)
 
Mine is currently one I made for a guy named BigBadBob who posted on the OTF about three years ago. Soon I'll switch once again. :uhhuh:
 
I found mine years ago on the avatars provided by Gamers.com for a forum I used to run there. I was attracted to the blue and red colors, and the intensity of the facial expression. I liked it so much that I've used it whenever I can.

BTW, if your avatar gets messed up from a forum crash, just upload it again and it will be fine.

Mine, which I recently added, is a picture I took of the ceiling of the Starbucks I used to frequent while I was studying at the University.

Nothing much really, just can't find a more original picture in my computer. :lol:

And Rizzo, I second what phatbrava said about your 'tar. :thumbsup:

I don't really know what mine is supposed to be (if anyone has any idea, please let me know :thumbsup: ) When I was registered at these forums many many forum wipes ago, I had this silly picture of a captain for my avatar. When I registered in May, I did a google picture search for "captain avatar" in hope of finding him again, but alas! Of all the pictures that turned up, this is the one I liked the most (apart from the captain from the Simpsons.) I've been thinking about changing it, though.
