Okay...so my Charger isn't immortal.

I've almost built my Charger. At lvl69, it's the following:

110 Strength
39 Dex
All the rest in Vita
Base Energy

Vampire Gaze
Enigma Wire Fleece
Fleshripper
Rhyme Arkarn Targe 53% (To be HoZ)
Trang-Oul's Girth
Immortal King's Forge
Marrowwalks
Angelic Wings
Angelic Halo x2


20 Charge
20 Might
20 Fanaticism
4 Vigor (Maybe 5 or 6, not sure)
1 Salvation
1 Holy Shield
2 Concentration (accidental extra point)
All Pres

With 30+ Skill Points left (I missed a Radiment or two, and 2 Izuals), what should I do? I admit I suck when swarmed. I was thinking of getting Vigor to 10, putting Zeal to 10, then the rest in Holy Sheild? I was thinking of maxing Zeal, or maxing Shield. With HoZ I'll have +4 to all Pally, so I might leave Sheild as is.

if it's a charger, you forgot to max one synergy, which would be Vigor.
 
I have a Charger clvl 80 in Hell diff. I also went with a low-dex high damage two-handed Maul build:

Charge: 20
Vigor: 20
Might:20
Conc: 20
BH: Rest

The first character I played in Diablo II (more than 5 years ago) was also a Charger. The tactics have not changed that much, especially if you don't have a shield. You have to constantly be dropping back with this build. Try and string enemies in a line so you can bounce from one to another. Patience is critical. It's also important to change aura from your main ED% booster to Vigor. This way, you sacrifice damage for more mobility against fast moving opponents (or when under the Holy Freeze/Decrepify effect)

Your merc has to be able to stand more heat than in a normal melee Paladin build (almost akin to a Ranger). The biggest suprise for me was how easily this build handles ranged attackers. The ranged attacker packs usually stand just far enough apart for me to "ping pong" between them quickly.

You have to be able to take down normal monsters in a few hits, if you can't you need more damage (My damage is topped off at 5k-27k). I don't think IK Maul will be an end-game weapon for a Charger, unless you add almost all the other IK gear for the elemental/magic damage boost and AR bonus.
 
I was going to max Vigor out, but I noticed that being defensive is wayyyy more important when it comes down to it. Holy Sheild = the defence I don't have.

Right now I'm maxing out Holy Shield and putting in +1 to Zeal so I'll have a lvl9. I changed my setup alot:

Shako
Enigma Wire Fleece
Headstriker
Rhyme Arkarn Targe 53% (To be HoZ)
Trang-Oul's Girth
Soul Drainers
Tearhaunch (Resists, Vigor...just good for a Charger)
Angelic Wings
Angelic Halo x2

Way more damage, life, and better for PvM as well as PvP. Headstriker is insane: Without the Tearhaunch and HoZ and with only 5 into Vigor I deal over 3k at lvl73. That turns into over 6k. I deal roughly 400 with 50% reduc in PvP, with knockback and amazing accuracy. Headstiker is key for a high level charger: It can hit 198 damage at lvl99 and with 149% DS, Charge becomes massive even with a shield.

Now that I have Shako, I could make Girth into String of Ears for better PvM and more reduction for PvP. I have a 15% one, so that will give me 33%. Ideas?

I like to do MF runs so the MF and Teleport are key, plus I need the strength.

Dual Rings won't be needed if I have Soul Drainers, I never get too too low on life or mana with Shako.

How much does Verdungos go for these days?
 
Sooner or later I'm gonna rebuild the Charger. Right now he's using:

Helm: Shako
Armor: Wire Fleece Enigma
Weapon: Headstriker
Sheild: Rhyme Arkaran Targe
Gloves: Soul Drainers
Belt: Trang-Oul
Boots: War Travs
Ammys and Rings: Angelic

Rhyme will hopefully turn into HoZ.

Trang might turn into T-Gods. What do you think? I could also use Snowclash, I have one already.

Weapon: Headstriker (PSkull)
Sheild: HoZ (Umed)
Gloves: Soul Drainers
Belt: Vendungo
Boots: War Travs
Ammys and Rings: Angelic

I need to get a new Enigma, a Hoz, the Vengungos, and 2 Ums. Could be hard.
