Necromancer duo, advice needed.

A friend and I decided to start new characters and play them LAN'd every once in a while. He chose a summoning necro and I am trying to figure out a class that would work well with him. We are starting from scratch, we won't have any twinked items, just what we find. What class would work well with a summoning necromancer? He is maxing skeletons and CE.

:xgift:

Well, depending on what type of playstyle you enjoy there are quite a few options. I really like strafers and it is a terrific backup to the skelly army.

Zealots or Enchantress my good friend.

Zealots preferred since their insane fanat works autoamtically instead of having to enchant EVERY one of your friend's skellies.

Any class that will add bonues to the skeleton hoards

Paladins auras work well ( as mentioned above)

An enchantress can enchant Necro minions for extra damage.

You could go a Summon Druid to compliment your friends minions and be war-mongers.

A cold sorc can be good, that way you can freeze enemies, your friends army will kill them easier.

Although some monsters will shatter from cold, so you could potentially waste some corpses.

A barabarian could be the go - you could be a supertank and use your warcries to pump up your friends minions.

A trapisin could work, as a support with sentry traps, and as as a mini tank.

Depends on your playing style.

If you want to sit back , just go a support character - if you want to be in the fray of battle, then perhaps go a sorc caster for damage or a Barb or Paladin for a tank.

If you both use fast computers, then maybe go the druid and have a huge army of minions.

The potential options are endless

Enjoy, and let us know what u ended up picking ;)

EDIT :: I must of written this the same time as Denis - looks like my response is half useless now ;) LOL

Thanks a lot for the great advice, trying to choose between a enchantress and a paladin now. I think I might give a enchantress a try just because I have never tried one before. Thanks a lot for the great advice!! :xgrin:

cool ;)

rough build guide :

20 enchant
20 warmth
20 lightning Mastery

then your choice of Energy Shield, or Frozen Armor

ES Route

20 Telekenesis
10+ Energy Sheild ( 15 would be nice)
5+ Static Field (backup attack if lots of Fire immunes) (max 10)

Frozen Armor Route

10+ In Armor of your choice
20 into Frozen Orb ( good backup skill )
10+ in Cold Mastery ( to enhance damage)

Back up skills

Teleport 1-2

Summary : At Level 95 - 106 Skill points

ES Build ( static field as backup)

60 in Enchant and Synergies
35 in Energy Shield and Synergies
5 in Static Field
2 in Teleport
4 however you want ( build could be finished at level 91 )

Cold Armor Build ( mediocre Frozen orb as back up)

60 in Enchant and Synergies
30 in Frozen Orb and Synergies
10 in Frozen Armor
1 in Static field
1 in Teleport
5 in pre-requs or however you want them.

***

Note :: A ranged enchantress is easiest to use.
in the description it says ranged doesnt get same fire damage, when you actually do get the same fire damage as melee

Raven Claw will be your bow of choice from levels 14-50
Then when available use the "Demon Machine" (best weapon)

or the Kuko if the above are unavailable.

Magefist best gloves ( +1 fire skills)

try to wear a +3 fire circlet

Use a +3 sorc orb for pre-buff with lidless Eye.

Any +1 all skills armor is nice.

Ammy should be +2 all skills, or +3 fire. ressys are a definate plus.

Rings should have dual leach (rare) + resys

You will need some small ressy charms to make ressys up as you will be sadly lacking these in Hell.

Shoes - Waterwalk, War Travellers are both good options.

... ?

Don't you mean FIRE Mastery ?

yep sorry thats what I meant.

I just finished reading a new guide using the new runewords and how the Ladder only builds have 20 fire mastery and 20 lightning mastery to take full effect of 20K lightning damage as well as 7K fire damage.

Frosty is correct, that should read Fire mastery.

Sorry for any confusion.
