Max sacrifice or Defiance for a zealer

I've decided to make a zealer. Max zeal, fanat, holy shield. Going to use Death zaxe. I thought I was decided on maxing sacrifice but now Im not so sure - thinking I should get the 300% extra defense synergy to Holy Shield from Defiance instead. Have ppl tried both to see which one is better? It seems to be that my blocking (hopefully with a hoz) will be so high and my def already good enough that I can just concentrate on killing. Comments please.

You coming from barb forum I say that's consistent I am leaning toward sacrifice too. Fanat+Sacrifice+Might Merc+Gores/Highlords etc etc = mean pally. My merc will use a Reaper for PIs or Bonehew for more damage. Who needs defense! Dead monsters are peaceful...

If you max zeal, holy shield, fanat, and scarifice. You still have a lot of levels left to max defiance also; although I think you'll be at level 96 or so before it's finally maxed. Either way unless you mess your skills up you can maz them both, it only depends if you want more damage or defense first.

I usually stop levelling around 85, just gets too boring or my attention turns to some other build I want to try, so I really do have to choose. I think I will go for more damage, just cuz it pains me when I cant kill a thing in Hell. Also, I want to play with the other funky auras like the remove poison one, fun

Personnaly I would max sacrifice then pum all remaining in defiance.

Level 85 +12 skill from quest gives ya 97 skills doesn't it.

20->Zeal
20->Fana
20->Holyshield
20-Sacrifice
10+ ->Defiance

This let ya 7 skill points for other skill and prerequesite. If ya enjoy your paly you will certainly get him way higher level. :thumbsup:
