Man, I hate game glitches! ...

Man, I hate game glitches! ...

I'm going cheesy and i'm seeing how easy and how fast it is to do an untwinked Hammerdin ... and it is easy btw.

In any case, D2 is ticking me off because the game will not drop me a Khalim's Brain in the Flayer Dungeon. Witch Doctor drops it right? Tell me i'm not going crazy.

I keep on trying to touch all the persons of interest (Kain etc) to get them to activate the quest but nothing happens. I got the eye, then killed the council and got the flail. Then got the heart.

Everytime I went to get another quest item and it was no problem and then go back to Flayer dungeon level 3 and no brain from that damn Witchdoctor!

Anyways, i'm just cheesed off because I spent a bit of time with this guy and he's on Nightmare Act 3. Crap!

Anybody have any ideas? Or just scrap it?

Actualy the doc doesn't drop it, there's usualy a chest nearby that does (gold) although there are a few exceptions map-wise, that will spawn the chest in the middle of the map and the doc on one of the outer edges.

Don't you get it from the Chest? *99.9% sure* I haven't done Act 3 in awhile. But I'm sure its in the Golden Superchest there isn't it?

The doctor is guarding a chest that has your quest item. Don't know if it requires a key but I usually find it to be unlocked.

Now go out there and open that chest :thumbsup:
 
Where's that head slappin' icon? I guess it's this one. :xgift:

Anyways, all you guys are right. For some reason I was thinking Witchdoctor drops it - now I remember that it's the golden chest.

Jeez, too much spiced eggnog I guess.

You know what happened? Usually, from my experience, the golden box is in the same area/room as the good ol' Witchdoctor ... but it wasn't this time. I had cleared pretty much the whole level except for a few tiles right smack dab in the middle of the map. Thought it was uncovered but it wasn't.

The Witchdoctor was in the top right hand corner so naturally I thought that it was in there but it wasn't. I decided that I must have missed it somehow and did a methodical search ... and sure enough I found it finally. Jeez ...
 
ahaha dont worry i did this the first time the chest was somewhere else.
 
Its never happened to me, and unless it happens within the next few days, i'll probably forget about this and start to panick as you did..
 
I remember the first time trying to get into the palace in Act2 :lol: . I kept speaking to the guards trying to convince them that I was one of the "good guys"...even slipped them some gold. All I got in return was a spear in my face and a "you may not enter." It took me forever to figure out who I needed to speak to to get inside. What a pain-staking experience that was.
 
I also got this yesterday. The doctor spawned in the bottow right corner and didn't drop the brain when I killed him and I got mad for a few seconds. Then I realized that it was the golden chest I was actually looking for which was in the middle of the map. And to top it off I got the most annoying sewer map I've ever had. I despise act 3.
 
This reminds me of the time when I couldn't find the flayer jungle. I spent hours scouring up and down every square inch of the greater marsh and spider jungle, but to no avail. I honestly thought that I had found a bugged map seed that didn't spawn the flayer jungle, lol.

It ended up being hidden by a tiny little crack that led to a bridge near the beginning of the spider forest.
 
ive had a missing radament several times. annoying since the first time was in nromal, so i couldn simply reroll the map by changing difficulty (im sure theres another in game way, but i cant think of it). but then i happened to play MP afterwards so that changed the map and i quickly killed him and got my +1 skill.

You answered your own question. Start a TCP/IP game with your machine as the host, immediately exit, and go back to SP.

Deleting those files only clear the pieces of the map you've seen so far. If you want a new map, you need to pick a different difficulty level or go to a MP game.
 
IIRC, in 1.09, Endugu was in the same room as the chest along with a boss pack of witchdoctors. in 1.10, the chest is in a different room and Endugu is alone
 
Just to comment though...

DII is one of the games I have played that has never bailed out because of some glitch. It's either your own system crashed or power failure or... you aren't looking for it well enough :D

EDIT: Oh depends on the game version. The better the patch, great. They DO bail out with FE bugs hehehehe :)

Depends on what map you get for Endugu's dungeon. In all versions both possibilities are possible :)

Bahamut: Happened to me more than once... running mods :P
