Looking for werewolf 1H budget weapon

Hi,
I'm playing a fury/rabies werewolf, currently in the 60s and just started walking through act 1 hell. My equipment is lacking in pretty much everything, but in particular, I found my weapon damage is way too low.

I have read some of the guides (mine isn't too different from what stoutewolf describes), but it seems that many of the weapons recommended there are high-end runewords.

My current weapon is a 171%ed fleshrender (dmg 70-117). I currently have a Pul and 20ish PG to spend on a new weapon, so anything valued above Um I won't be able to afford in the near future.

I have been considering getting a good fleshrender (190+ %ed) and upgrading it to elite. Theoretically, the damage output should roughly double. The recipe takes a Pul, though.
Are there other, more effective weapons in that price range that you could recommend? +skills would be nice, but if the damage is good, I suppose I could do without them.

Re: Looking for werewolf 1H budget weapon

Fleshripper is already a elite type weapon and it's kinda slow with no base ias unless you shael it. Is stormlash inside your price range? Non-eth of course ias/ed jeweled.

If you ever decide to go 2-handed upped shael'd ribcracker ^______^ makes best whacking sound ever period

Re: Looking for werewolf 1H budget weapon

Stormlash might just be affordable, I'd have to see.

To be honest, I don't quite see the point why it's so expensive. The damage seems about average for an elite 1H unique, but very inconsistent. There don't seem to be any killer mods either, no skills, MF, resists, that sort of thing. Still it seems people value it highly - can you elaborate why?

Having said that, what I understand even less is why an eth Stormlash is worth anything at all, let alone the prices it seems to get. It's neither indestructible nor self-repairing, so, being a weapon, it will break sooner or later when in use, right? What am I missing here?

Re: Looking for werewolf 1H budget weapon

It's not really the damage that stands out, it's the speed and chance to cast stasis field as well as 33% crushing blow thats good about it. Stasis field will reduce every monster around you current hp by 1/4 everytime it triggers, and the crushing blow will reduce monster you hit current hp by 1/10 on a 33% chance. Both hp reduce mods along with good damage and very fast attack speed(lots of stasis field and CB triggered) bring even boss down quickly, it is the same thing with ribcracker as well. Eth stormlash can be socketed with zod rune for indestructible mod which will increase it's damage much more than the max %ed of a ohm rune in non-eth can.

baranars star ... some nice ppl will give them to you for free ... or collect 10 pgems and im sure you can get it ...

Re: Looking for werewolf 1H budget weapon

He was talking about flashrender, not fleshripper. Fleshrender is exceptional

Fleshrender is a nice wepon, and upping it with one with more ed is a good option. I was quite awed the first time I saw it, since it was only the second exceptional club. i was going to recommend it to you before you said you have it. But as you said, I think its pure physical is too low. Try to socket it with something too.
