[L] Is 200 FCR on a PvP Light Sorc Viable/Does it Have a Point?

Just looking for some opinions. I have a pvp ES light sorc that I've used with both different gear setups - 117 fcr brkpoint, and 200 fcr. I've only used it in pubs.. and with all the jumping/bming, it's tough to get a read on which is actually better. As it's ES, I do 37k lightning with 117 gear on, 30k with 200. I also lose life/mana switching to 200 fcr, and have a weaker bo. Should I even bother going 200? Or does the quick movement/casting somewhat adequately (or more than adequately) compensate for the losses? Let me know what you think.

There is no right answer. Whatever you prefer is the best choice. If you like 7 frame tele as opposed to 8, do 200 fcr. Again, it is all opinion and gameplay styles.

If you're looking for opinions, mine is go for the 200fcr. I like speed, in real life and in the game, but that is my style, perhaps not yours.

May I ask what is your gear. IMO if you ever choose to not go 200 fcr than there are only two option. Get max block or use infinity. If you do not have max block, I believe it is almost necessary to get 200 fcr otherwise you will be too vulnerable for far too long.

Light Circlet 20 fcr
Vipermagi
Arachnids
Magefists
Dual Spirits <= I love this combo
Trek's
2x fcr rings
Light ammy +15 fcr
Or the other way to go would be Griffons + 10 fcr amulet, but I find the -res on griffons isn't so useful, I greatly prefer magical or rare circlets

Key is to get the last fhr and fcr bp on the sorceress. Shael your vipermagi and get a +7 fhr jool with good mods in your circlet and you have 157 fhr.

Prebuff with a +9 ES Memory staff, saves you ES points, you can be cheap and prebuff with +3 circlet/ammy, rings, +3 ormus

IMO A wellbuilt ES sorceress with this gear is incredibly hard to catch/stun and you will have decent damage.

Both the maxblock and infinity sorc versions can hold up extremely well at 117 fcr as well so it is a matter of preference really...

IMO, dual spirits = not so great.. i use fhr/res sc's and 2 fhr light gcs for the 143 breakpoint. hoto or lite eschutas > spirit... and god help you if you ever add the dex for max block using a spirit.. unless you're suggest a vit/block with a stormshield or something. And, as I've said, 117 fcr has worked fine for me. 200 fcr is not the only viable pvp'er. was just wondering what others experiences have been.

If you use ES, then stick to 117FCR the lost life/mana will be to big in most cases.

Frostburns + 2Sojs, thats quit allot mana.

IMO I would only skip out on going 200 fcr if you choose to go max block thereby forefeiting spirit, or by going for infinity. If you choose to not go max block, then there is no reason why to not go with 200 faster cast. Yes you lose a small amount of plus skills and mana, but you gain so much more.

The sacrifices between 117 fcr and 200 fcr setups are worth the advantages in my opinion. For the cost of some minus mana from no sojs/frostburns and maybe a loss of +3-4skills, you get 1 frame faster attack rate/tele. Dual spirit gives you a boatload of +mana, fhr, and +vit is helpful. The 110 fhr you get from dual spirits = almost 10x gcs with fhr, and if you go this route, you can hit 143 fhr with no gcs. That means all of your gcs you can use for life skillers.

So IMO, 200 fcr setup actually nets you more life AND more fhr, and you don't really lose as much mana as you would think. FCR rings usually come with stats/res which helps offset what you lose from rsojs. And the damage reduce and magic absorb on spirit/viper is also some-what helpful in preserving your life.

I'm just saying there are really 3 options for a sorc. 200 fcr setup is best for caster vs. caster, but CAN still handle melee. 117 fcr with max block (non-spirit shield) fares best vs. melee and does slightly worse vs. casters. And finally infinity is for those fast kills vs. people without stacked res.
